Hi, can anybody give me the OEM part number for the thermostat for a 2.0T FSI please? My temperature gauge takes ages to heat up and then just fluctuates between 70 and 90, I've looked for a thermostat but I've found 2 and they are both totally different. Thanks

If you are buying a Thermostat make sure you buy genuine from Audi/TPS . Give them your reg no to make sure its the right one.
I've seen 3 different ones that come up on different sites with my registration, which one do I need?
First 2 from OEM parts...

I will buy genuine but why are the OEM ones and the ECP one totally different? I don't understand it

There is two different thermostat types, hence the difference in price etc.
Version 1: It is possible to just replace the thermostat valve.
Version 2: The thermostat & housing are a sealed component and hence to replace the thermostat you also have to replace the housing too. It is not possible to open it up due to it being plastic welded together.
For what it's worth mine (2006 A3 20T quattro BWA eng. code) had version 2.
My advise is, to echo the above comments, go to the main dealer and just give them your VIN/REG number and they will sort it out for you.

I've had mine replaced twice now and it still fluctuates between 70 and 90 when its below 4 degrees. I've changed the coolant sensor twice too.
Mine takes ages to even move off the bottom, then stays at 70 whilst driving. If idle it goes to 90
Mine starts heating up after about 10 minutes, and won't hit 90 after a 30 mile commute if it's cold.
Sounds like mine except mine takes longer than 10 mins to move off the bottom, is the car still safe to drive like this?

Got stat replaced yesterday, temperature now goes to 90 and stays there but can take upto 20 mins to get there. Any ideas?
