Hi all,

Thought I'd start a new post as a new member to introduce myself..

My name's Simon and after months of searching I finally found and brought my A3 last week, it's a big step up from the Corsa I used to drive.

I've not got big plans for it but a few subtle mods that will help it look a bit more modern, I've seen some really nice examples on here already..

My current plans are,

- New Audi mats
- LED MY11 rear lights
- White LED rear number plate light
- S-Line chrome exhaust tips
- Rear de-badge (A3, 2.0 TDI)
- Rear window tints
- Xenon headlights
- Metal tax disc holder
- Alloy refurb

Few pics of the car below :)

Hi Simon, welcome to ASN. Nice introduction to the site. Hope you enjoy the forum. :)

Hi Simon,

Welcome to the forum :) Nice base spec you got there! If you need any help on the mods gimmi a shout mate. Where abouts in London are you?

Thanks for the comments guys, just saving a bit of money now so I can start buying a few bits so I'll be active on here...

Ash I'm a South London boy.. I'll probably call on your help when I start the modding, I think you've helped my mate Amit91987 on his A3 too!

N8 thanks for the advice I'll get onto NHN for the Xenons.

It's taken a little longer than I expected but I've finally got the car looking the way I want, so I thought I'd post an update.

I've done all the bits I mentioned in the original post except LED number plate lights which I'm not really fussed about now and also didn't get Xenons.. went for the cheaper option of Philips diamond vision headlights but they look awesome...

So in the last nine months I've done the following..

- Philips Diamond Vision headlight conversion (bulbs from ebay)
- MY11 rear lights (big thank you to NHN for supplying)
- 35% rear tints (fitted at Mirage Tint in Kent)
- Audi rubber mats (Stoke Audi online)
- Richbrook tax disc holder (Halfords)
- Chrome exhaust tips (tips from eBay)
- Alloy reburbishment (Revive UK)
- Rear de-badge

All the changes are quite minor but combined the car looks much better especially the rear end which looks a lot more modern..

Comments welcome

Cheers

Hi Sim_88,

Nice car, looking good and totally agree with you regarding the back, looks niiiiiiice!

I am also upgrading a few bits on my 2006 Audi A3 S-Line, I have only started with the inside, so have fitted Cruise Control, RNS-E and MF steering wheel, footwell lights and LED interior lights so far, only just started but getting very addictive! :)

You mentioned in your above post, you upgraded your bulbs to Phillips Diamond Vision bulbs, does it make a difference? I will be looking to get some Xenons but need to save my pennies (not cheap), so thought these could be a good interim until I can afford the xenons.

Also, where did you get the exhaust tips from and did you have to cut your exhaust to fit them as my car has downward facing tailpipes?

Would like to keep in contact if OK as you are modding the same car as me, so can swap tips, knowledge, etc

I also carry out installs if you need help with anything.

Thanks in advance.

Jamie

Thanks JRock

I was thinking about RNS-E too, it might be one for the future.. Have you got a thread I'd like to track your progress?

The Philips bulbs are definitely worth doing in the interim... They're only 25 quid but they give a white xenon effect from the outside with just a hint of blue.

Search eBay for 120902378828 - that's the product code for the tips I got, you need to get your current downward tips sheared off and the new ones will just need clip on... Search google for Mr Exhaust they done mine.

Happy to keep in contact and help out:thumbsup:

Looks good mate. Loving the rear tints. You didn't go too dark by the looks of it. Nice :)

Thanks for the link.

Just ordered a set of those bulbs, worth the 25 quid till the xenon's come.

I haven't started a thread yet but looking to get one up this Easter wknd, got some more bits to get installed 1st. Will send you the link when I've uploaded.

Keep up the modding and keep up the posts.
