hello there

got a probleme with rear sensors of Audi a3 2005 they dont work any more
but when i engaged the gear to Reverse it just making a sound and that is it ?? any ideas guys ?
cheers

The sound is a long beep I assume which indicates a fault in the system, could be a sensor down or the loom, needs a scan to check fully tbh, whereabouts are you?

from county durham

got 2 problems

1 - No security system beep when vehicle is locked or unlocked

2 - Rear Sensors Doesnt Work Any More Just Making Long Beep About 3-5 Second When i Engaged To Reverse and Thats It

Thanks In Advance

Alarm beep can be turned on or off with vcds, do the hazards flash when its locked/unlocked?
Dont know about the other Q though.

Please don't open multiple threads on the same subject, it just makes things messy, any additional info needs to be added to your existing thread.

Have you had the car scanned with vcds and where are you located? :) x

Threads have been merged, please dont start multiple threads on the same subject. If all the information is kept to one thread it will then be more accessable and useful to others at some other point. Thank you

No I didn't scan the car yet will be expensive to fix this problem tho ?

no one knows what the problem is to quote. It could be a coding fix which is £free if you have or know someone with VCDS, if the can gateway is faulty, that is around £170ish from Audi I think.

Basically cant put a price on it unless we know what the issue is and we wont know till its been scanned with VCDS unfortunately.

A cheap and poor fix would be to buy a cheap universal reverse sensor kit off ebay (but if you was willing to go that route, doubt you would have brought an Audi haha)

get it scanned is my advise and most likely everyone else's too im afraid.

Also if you go to a garage, most usually charge an hours labor for the use of their diagnostics machine. (even for 10mins use, unless you know them or they are kind)

Check out the vcds map for a user near you.

Hopefully but the way these cars systems are integrated, could be a 101 things that could cause an issue, hence the VCDS scan being important as it narrows down what the issue could be if not specifying the issue.

Hopefully there is not something bad

Just get it scanned as advised, no point trying to guess the cost is there, when we have no ideas what's wrong with it.

It wont be gateway as it still beeps, which means its communicating around the car ok.
