I need a replacement turbo for my Audi AFN TDI 110bhp where's the best place to go i.e cheapest ;-) and which one to go for that will bolt straight on with no issues?

Do you want standard or uprated turbo ? There's 3 options:
1. Gt1749VA off the pd130 audi a4/passat b5/skoda superb withe the 1.9 tdi engine
2. BV43 off the 2.0Tdi 170Bhp audi a4/a6 16V BRD engine code
3. Hybrid of the gt1749V you have fitted with a larger turbine- the one from the GT1749VB is a good candidate or a 50/52mm compressor wheel from the v6 tdi turbocharger as fitted to the AFB/AKE/AYM/BDG/BDH/BAU 2.5 tdi engines! This will require minor machining of the compressor housing in order to take full advantage of the larger, more modern compressor wheel !
If you need any more details i can get you either of the above but they won't be that cheap !

hi mate i had mine reconditioned by turbo clinic leeds after a few recomendations they are not the cheepest but as people will tell you thats not the best thing to base your desission on a lot especially the ones on ebay use ****e quality internals turbo clinic are far from the most expensive tho they offer courior pick up and retun price which is what i did or drive down to leeds and sorted in the day recon should be about £350 they are a good bunch of lads and quality job. also whereabout are you im in millom

I'm out Bankhead my old Audis in Parminters at the moment. Was going to by a new car for work but couldn't make my mind up what to go fo so going to keep the old girl a bit longer. I'll phone Turbo Clinic in the morning see what price they do me.
I want to just go standard no point throwing too much money on my Audi it's just a work horse for getting me to work etc.

Get a pd130 turbo and have it made into a hybrid, it will cost you not much more over what a reconditioned turbo will cost ! I see you spent some dosh making your a4 as bling as possible so it would be wise to spend a little more on the right ingredients...hybrid turbo, 0.216 nozzles, pd intake and a chipped ECU will unleash up to 170 Bhp without detrimental fuel economy ! I tell you a souped up VE AFN engine feels much better tuned than the pd130 engine and they are bomb proof and rev higher !
£150-200 chipped ECU with 170Bhp maps, £150-250 for nozzles and £150-500 for a turbo will give you more power than modern 2.0Tdi + none of the drawbacks !

Will the GT1749V fit the AFN without mods OK? Not bothered about any more power at the moment just want the car to run ok and get me to work and back. Bought the wife a 2008 Toyota Verso with the 2.2 180bhp diesel engine so that'll do for power kicks for now :) Just wanted to confirm if the 028 145 702c turbo is the right one?

GT1749V is the stock turbo as fitted to the AFN/AVG/AHH/AJM and AJT 1.9 tdi engines either VE or PD. Be aware that there are many types of Gt17 turbo's and not all do fit your engine. The gt1749VA from the 1.9PD Tdi 130Bhp engine fits "plug and play" on the AFN manifold, only needs an adapter for the turbo outlet pipe to fit to the cross over pipe.
