After the rejection of my first A3, I now have another on order :

Audi A3 3dr
1.4 Tfsi S-line
Daytona Grey
Rear parking sensors
Interior light pack
Service Pack

Delivery June.

Considering the Panoramic roof but trying to find out how far the glass actually slides out. Does it leave a good open area ?.

Also considering heated seats, folding mirrors and an upgrade to park + (not assist).

Any thoughts ?.

PS : Not fussed about the Comfort Pack as I don't use these features on my current car (VW Golf Cabrio).

PPS : Anyone know if I've left it too late to add the options. Build week 21 I believe.

It slides back to within millimetres of the aerial and the opening is almost as wide as the roof and over a third of the length. It'll only be too late to add the options if your car has gone to confirmed on Audi's build system in which case adding them will push your order back to whichever slot the dealer can then get...

I have the same roof on my polo and I think it is the same unit, if so like previous post it opens all the way back and you can open it to any position you like in between, IMO it is a good addition to any car and let's a lot of light in as well.

Mine is build week 22 and the dealer says it's too late to change anything. Not sure how hard he tried though

Mine is build week 16 and I changed the colour this week. Give your dealer some stick....

ImageImageHere's mine with the pano roof!! It was my only "must have" on the car, that and the colour :)
I'm gonna try and clean it today as we seem to be the only part of country not getting snow so if you want any other pics of the roof let me know .

Gotta say I've been thinking all morning of finding a way to get an additional £950 together to add the Panoramic Roof to my order after seeing this picture...

Honestly - it's well worth it.... I've had it open (or at least tilted) pretty much every day I've driven it! It makes the cabin a lot lighter and provides fresh air... Also, I've noticed that the car has a tendency to steam up when it's wet and the roof helps to counter that...

Its handy in the summer on the occasion we do get hot days when parked to let the heat out.

Hi new to the forum and Audi. Any pictures available of the panoramic roof from the interior? Seriously considering changing my order after seeing these pics.

Thanks for all your replies folks.

I've decided against the pan roof - couldn't justify the extra 1k and I think it suits other colours much better (Glacier lush). That said, I would have gone for it on a Daytona Black Edition if it was available.

I've added the heated seats and folding mirrors. I've had the seats before and they are great.

Good news also, my build week has come forward to week 18 !. :yahoo:

I have a pan SR on my a3 sb in daytona grey with roof rails as a compromise having moved from a3 cab and tt roadster.

Looks great and letting plenty of light in especially on the Sline which has a black interior roof.

Cheers

Stop it, stop it please. You've got me wanting a Pano roof now, I'd stopped reading the brochure as I kept adding things and now more temptation on this thread. Rant over.

Should I ???

i think it's a must really makes the car, you just have to look at the pictures!!!!

From the outside I don't think it'd add much to look of the car being Daytona. Looks amazing on Glacier though! Obviously the benefit is on the inside. I really wanted it too but couldn't justify the outlay.

i agree it won't enhance a Daytona car from the exterior, and it does look fab on the white.I would purely want it for the benefits you mentioned. The wife said I've got to keep this car for a while (yeh ok honey) so it may be a worthy investment. Good excuse to go to the dealer later.

Not long off the phone from the dealer, finally gave in after seeing the pics and added panoramic roof to our glacier white A3 Sportback. Also told that build date has come forward a week to week 26. Not sure I can handle the wait!

at least you have a build date !! When will that be built then, is it 26th week of the calendar year ?.

thinks it the right decision for a white car, not sure if I'm going to order the roof. Been to the dealer today to see a car with one, unfortunately they didn't have any and I would rather see one before Taking the plunge. So I may give it a miss.

I've been told week 26 is the last week of June, I'm resigned to the long wait and possibly getting the car for the new plates in September.

Thanks for that it gives me something to work from,I am hoping for my order to be confirmed this week so should hopefully get a build slot, they have said September but I won't hold my breath as I think it may be later than that. Fingers crossed.

Decided to defo not go for the pano roof.

Just a small note on the sunroof , it's awesome in this weather!!! Lol

on a more technical note , left it open all the way home, and it's the first one I've had that didn't pop my ears or become uncomfortable at speed, up to 70's on motorway, and didn't effect mpg either still got a mid 60!

My dealer said it was a waste of money and didn't open so I didn't bother.

What do dealers know - clearly not everything about what they sell otherwise I would have gone for one, as the S-line is dark inside.
