driving back from work today, just about reached my drive and there was the most horrific metallic grinding noise from somewhere under the car =8-(
ended up getting the Audi/RAC recovery guy out cos i didn't want to drive her to the Silverlink, fortunately it turned out to be nowt more than a little stone stuck between the brake plate and caliper or something. thought the goddamn exhaust or the quattro had fallen off from the noise it ws making! :-D

Hi Wolfie138.
Got the exact same noise myself at mo,sounds like a cats being dragged under my car, im hoping it will dislodge itself eventaully how have you cured yours mate ?:banghead:

If you reverse and dab the brakes a few times while reversing it usually frees the stone.

the guy said the plate (or whatever!) has grooves in and the stone should've dislodged itself in due course, but he just gave it a poke w/ a screwdriver or something and knocked it out.

yeah, gotta say the service was impeccable. guy was here w/in about 30 mins and away in under 10! seemed to know immediately what the craic was just by me expalining the squeally sound too, lol.

Same thing happened to my wife in her A5 Cabriolet, a Small Stone stuck in-between the wheel and the Tyre and made a Horrendous noise !

Let me know what area you're in and I'll pass it on ! !
Always good to get some positive feedback for the guys in Silver. ;-)

deja vu. got another grind noise from the back, got the RAC guy on the way. hopefully just another bit of grit/salt in the wheels.
don't get me started on the state of the roads....

tell you what though, i love those wheels on the Dynamik but if they're gonna cause me this much bother i'm gonna think hard about trading them in.

EDIT : aye, *** gravel again.
