Hey guys, first of i just want to say thanks to the guys on here that helped with all the info i needed!

Anyway i will be a first time Audi owner on saturday! 58 plate S3 :yahoo:

After 2-3 months of searching lol, just a few questions - it's had it's spark plugs/Haldex done at 46k and now got 64k on the clock but no mention of the cambelt/timing belt being done.

Do the post 2008 Audi's have a timing belt? the guy at the dealership doesn't know but said to me "If it's due we'll do it"

Beyond excited!

Hope you enjoy it.

We can always help you spend some more once you've got it!

Haha S3Alex not like my bank account has already taken a beating, it's no doubt get another one soon enough! Def have to read through your build thread when i have time!

RedDejavu thanks for the info mate, it's a manual :p

It's a really good car.

Still love mine.

At 64k, I would get it done along with water pump given its going to be free :)

5 years or 75k for the belt so will be due towards the end of the year.
Get the water pump and cam follower done too for peace of mind.

As said, get some pictures up and we can start spending your money :sly:

If the dealership are saying they'll do it, get it done by them as it'll save you a good £400ish.

Also, give S3Alex's thread a read. That car is an absolute weapon!

Would be awesome. Guy said he's going to ring Audi and find out if it's due so i guess it depends on what they say to him.. but at least i know it needs to be done now

I know!

It's SO easy to keep spending once you've started.

Oh if its a indy garage, make sure the belt is done properly, in other words, cams locked of etc, mine was done when bought the sb for missus & 2 years later with issue discovered, was installed badly & fixed number of issues, unreal how different the car was after that job done as per the book.

Sounds good mate look forward to seeing the pics

Yeh, it's not the cheapest thing to do, and I need mine doing very soon.

When I first got my A3, I was just glad to have such a nice car, then I found this site. Fast forward around 8 months and I've done all the bits in my sig haha.

It is a Indy garage, but quite a big one so i'd assume they'd do it right but thanks for the heads up on that NHN. I'll make sure to check.

I think that's exactly whats going to happen to me! from the list you have, definitely want to get the OEM LED number plate lights (maybe off A5) and the interior LED light pack done mate!

T8ups on here is the man to speak to regarding the interior LED lighting. Really helpful and his LED's are bang on.

My car is a 57 plate S3 now with 42k on the clock when i asked Audi and AMD Essex they both said 5 years old or 50k so i had mine done, from memory Audi was around £400 - £500 and AMD essex charged me £324 i think and included the water pump :)

Make sure you get some pics up and as the others have said get ready to open your pockets !
