S3 low speed Brake Squeal (2011)

Hi All,

Just thought i'd post this to see if anybody else has noticed their S3 Brakes squealing when braking at low speed (10mph & coming to a stop) car has just started doing this in the past couple of weeks, i've checked brake pads and there is plenty of friction material left on all of them and the disks look fine.
Milage is 14500 car is 61 plate.

I think a trip to Manchester Audi may be in order, although bet they say its not a warranty issue!!!

I had the same issue 2 weeks ago ....Due to non-Genuine Pads.

Mine do the same but i put some hammerite paint some time ago on the hubs and thought that this might be causing it. Not that much bothered tbh but will have a local mechanic have a look at them when the weather gets better. Sod warranty they always find a way to rip you off anyway. Car is 61 plate 13k on the clock.

most likely is lack of what Blackie mentioned. This is what my mechanic suggested to do first too.

Had this on my 09 plate - genuine pads, it was very annoying and embarrassing..... I had read somewhere that the squeal was normal due to the composition of the high performance pads being harder materials (not sure if this is true). I was lucky enough that they needed changing at the end of last year and the mechanic recommended Pagid pags which seem ok so far.
