Alright guys

Ive been a member on here for a little while now but never really posted much...

Im thinking of taking my car to Stage-1 and upgrading the exhaust but I dont really know where to start. A friend who has a Golf R was showing me some stuff and he knows someone who could do it for me but I dont know what im getting into really!

I would like it done as ive had a shot of an older S3 that was at stage-2 and it was brilliant.

Just looking for some advice like which exhaust to get, which system I would like etc, my car is still under warranty so I didnt really want to muck about with stuff but im just going to anyway :eyebrows:

Ive been thinking about modding my car for a while but as its black im not really sure what to do, ive had a look at some of the pics on here and some of them are brilliant, any must have mods, upgrades you guys think i should get?

Cheers

Del

Most peopke opt for the 3" milltek tbe and a decent cold air intake such as the forge twintake.
Revo and shark are popular software i believe.

Thanks for the reply mate, will i be able to get these things pretty easy or does anyone know someone in Glasgow area that could do this for me?

Just to add, exhaust and CAI will let you go stage 2 which is ~320-330bhp.
Stage 1 is just a map and standard hardware which is circa 310bhp.

You can pick these up pretty easily obviously dependant on stock.Gnj is a good supplier. Ive bought bits off him and his service is second to none.
What you got planned for ur s3 corey as ur corsa was rather mint. Seen alot of it on vxro

Cheers mate.
The whole progress thread from it is up on here now in the Other section I believe.
I'm going for 360 and a bit of stance for now.
Now going all out on the engine bay like I did with the Corsa, for now anyway

Yeah ive seen it mate. No point telling you something you already know lol
Mines in at the mo for stage 2+ so should get it back wednesday.
Its been in for exhaust development by a company who do alot for vxrs

Nice mate, I cant wait for the power lol.
Ordered some springs, now just saving for a clutch I think. Rather get that out the way now before it goes later on.

Mate I have just remapped an almost identical car yesterday - S3 DSG stage 1 and the owner is over the moon with it. I can supply everything you need to go to Stage 2 + so if you want any more info then get in touch. Im 40 mins away from Glasgow. No other mods needed for stage 1.

Hi mate,

Ive replied to your pm!!

Still looking for tips here lads, anyone done anything with the lighting, fog lights or interiors?

Im running Stage1 SHARK (with DSG torque limiter patch) and full Milltek TBE+ Sport Cat and its excellent. Revs much sweeter, goes really well and sounds great without being boomy.
Recommended.

Havent bothered with CAI as that might scare the dealers in the event of a service/warranty visit when they see new plumbing, missing engine covers etc.
My logic is that a `simple exhaust swap` wont phase them and the map is always switched off anyway

I like your thinking PaulAr! I was going to go CAI and remap but might flip that around...

No but I can get you a brand new set if you want. Mine were powder coated when I got them as its better wearing as I knew they were going to be fitted over the Winter

Hmmm very tempted, but other priorities right now. I will keep in touch though mate.

I must of misunderstood your comment as I was under the impression that you thought you could switch it ON and OFF instantly with a switch which obviously you cannot.........thats why I was asking. Yeah thats exactly what I do when the S3 has to go into the garage but I use my remapping software instead of the STS.

Always remember aswell to use VCDS to clear all the fault codes within the modules after remapping because it does leave a footprint within these specific modules and the garage can tell if you dont clear them when they plug in.

Alright lads thanks for the replies!!

Ive got a few pms from people offering their services and its greatly appreciated...

One thing i would like to know, is there a massive different sound wise between a resonated and non resonated Milltek?

I had a look on youtube but the video quality isnt good enough to get a good listen?
