Sportback build dates?

mine was ordered 6th of feb and been told July now! Wonder if its due to the sunroof! With leeds audi part of sytner group! Just want it now! ( stamps feet)

That's strange, like you say it might be the sunroof. My dealer originally said build week 18 when I first ordered but called the following day to say it was provisionally week 12...apparently they moved things around?? I think I may have been given someone's cancelled order allocation. I must admit I didn't want the car until Aug/Sept but after reading about a 6 month waiting list I decided not to waste anymore time.

I am a little worried after reading a few posts on here about cars sitting in final assembly for weeks! I wonder if this is something to do with the apparent shortage of xenons.

Hopefully they will get it all sorted! S-line suspension thing may have been down to parts! Just hoped to get it before my hols to France in June would of loved to di the trip in my new car!

Hello All

im new to the forum but have been following it for some time as I have ordered my First ever audi the new A3 sportback.

I ordered the A3 SB in red SE trim but upgraded the wheels, sound system, got sat nav and parking sensors. Ordered a 2ltr diesel

I ordered in last week of January and just been confirmed today that I could have it delivered on the 13th of march. Unfortunately im away and will now be collecting it on 18th March. Super excited especially as I was given an original collection date of 27th May

Just heard today that my SB has been built this week and is now at the port for overnight shipping!

Sorted paperwork this morning for my A3 SB 1.8 TFSI s-line in daytona grey - ordered 15th Dec and ready for collection this weekend. Dealer said 100% that the Audi UK launch date is the 16th March and that no cars could go out prior to that date.

Only problem is that its 50/50 I'm going to be out the country over the weekend so may have to wait until the following tuesday.... its going to be a long week...urgh.

New to the forums,

Ordered my 2.0 TDI Sportback in 'Brilliant Black' with S-Line Pack, Black Roof Rails, Privacy Glass and SD Sat Nav mid January and have been told delivery date of 7th June with 'room for movement'...hoping this means it may be earlier.

This will be the first Audi i've owned, although my dad currently owns a 2012 Audi S5 Black Edition so i've had plenty of time enjoying that whilst waiting for delivery.

Can't wait now, haven't seen any photos of my particular spec around yet as they all seem to be in Red or Silver

Mine is through a leasing company. Ask your fleet manager, they should know which dealership is involved. Or, failing that, contact the leasing company.

Signed order form today and paid deposit so still waiting for a build date but dealer seems to think that orders have gone ballistic and likely delivery will be end July/early August. In which case I might wait for a few weeks and get it on 1st Sep on a 63 plate as will be away on hols for most of August.

anyone else getting 4.5 month or longer delivery dates?

It sounds as though I timed it just about right....ordered it 10th Feb and is being built next week, hopefully ready for collection early April. It all depends on your dealer's allocation though, as bigger dealers have more build slots available to them. I ordered mine through Sytner, how about you?

Have ordered from S G Smith group (Wimbledon Audi) . I hope they are managing my expectations and I will get delivery in July

Picking up my S-line Sportback at the weekend. Counting down the day's now! Dealer has confirmed its been PDI'd and is currently sat in his showroom 'out of the snow' until I collect it.

Hi new to the forum, as i have now ordered a 1.4TFSI S-Line SB in daytona grey i thought i would pitch in my experience with Audi!

Placed the initial order at the begining of March and was told that they had a build slot that could be spec' changed for us, so should expect to see the car around May/June...

Anyway last week i decided to add the comfort pack, Dealer rang me back to say that by adding this it has now lost its build date and been put to the back of the queue! And he has no build date or anymore info! he says that it could now be possibly July/August! .

Anyone else experience this? or was he telling us porkys about build slots?

I'm afraid that is how the queueing system works. If you ammend the order you lose your build slot. This isn't to say that you won't be allocated one very close to your original date, just that you run the risk of being stuck at the back of the queue.

Good choice! If you've only added the Comfort Pack I wouldn't be surprised if your date doesn't change by very much, fingers crossed!

your dealer should have told you before putting through the change that it would push back the date and then you could have decided whether to go ahead or not. A bit ridiculous that he didn't tbh

Great news...my car's been built ahead of the confirmed build date and is at the port in Germany awaiting shipment! Not bad for saying I only ordered it on 10th Feb!! I'm like a giddy little kid now.

Well, my first day impressions are :thumbsup: !

If the 1.4 122bhp was available when i ordered mine i would probably have gone with that, as it would have been a lot cheaper, and i tend to drive fairly sensibly anyway (my old car was a 1.6 105bhp).

However, i am now well pleased i have got the 1.8 I had a little play earlier on a b-road and looked down and was doing 95mph oops. It is just so much fun, and coupled with the s-tronic it is so effortless and tempting as the road opens up.

Very impressed with the s-tronic also. Very smooth and relaxing in D-mode, but that adapts very well if you do put your foot down. Have tried a bit of manual and its going to be fun!

There can be a slight hesitancy when pulling away, and i would put that down to a characteristic of auto boxes in general rather than anything else. I think it is a case of getting used to it a little and understanding how it works. Certainly not a deal breaker and as others have said may be able to be dialled out in sport mode etc.

Sport mode? Can't even think why i would need that (yet!).

Very happy, its great so far.

Popped into the dealers today. Mine is now build (week 11), but hasn't left the plant yet. Was hoping for an Easter delivery, but I guess this is going to drop back a week or two now

Had a look at the SB's in the showroom though. Very nice - can't wait for mine to arrive now!
