AUDI Dealers in the UK: the GOOD and/or Incompetent...

Coulsdon Audi have always been very good for me! :)

In my seven months of ownership Coulsdon Audi have also been very good for me too. Unfortunately for him, I get the impression that the workshop manager there feels let down by Audi about the lack of satisfactory response to the brake squeal issue.

Sorry tpo hear that PigPen but like others not surprised. the level of Audi valeters ability is on the whole shocking, fortunately Carlisle Audi's guy seems a bit of a DW enthusiast so did a good job. But PDI is no guarantee that you will get your car in a decent condition.

I would get the dealership to agree to paying the cost for you to get a professional detailer to paint correct the car. All too often dealers sell Autoglym Lifeshine on cars which masks all this or they just bung a load of SRP on which fills scratches and swirls so the paintwork looks great but isn't.

What does PDI mean? I have now booked the car in to a professional detailer to correct the paint and Swissvax the whole thing on completion? But the dealership are saying no to paying anything!

Pre Delivery Inspection.

Before booking it on for correction, you could take it back to the dealer, ask them to reconsider their stance or if they don't reject the car. I know it's not ideal but you should receive a car like that. If it was in wrappers from the factory the paint has been damaged in the PDI or in their ownership, either way you shouldn't accept it as is and they shouldn't expect it to.

Wouldn't be in my best interests believe me it's a long story. Maybe when all this is over I might be able to explain.

Speak to Audi UK, they won't be happy to hear your story and you stand a better chance of a resolve through them!

I would also go with the above..give them a kick in the balls:eiertritt: Reject the car, it's in there best interests to put it right and for them to pay for it, make sure it's not done by their bodyshop (Swansway in Crewe) as they are shockingly poor!!

As stated above it wouldn't be in my best interest:huh:

Had a very bizarre email from my dealership today saying my car was acceptable to them but maybe not to Audi UK so they are investigating on my behalf:uhm: Think they are trying to get their four penneth in before I do

Who inspected it before you took delivery...Stevie Wonder. What a load of tripe.

Also I don't understand why it's not in your best interests? You've paid a lot of money for it and it should be to a presentable/accetable standard to you. Not what they are happy to present to you.

Sorry Fella but if that was my car it would be back on there doorstep!!! Or at least them arranging for it to be detailed somewhere or inspected say at Exeter Audi or Taunton Audi?

I'm in a similar position to you, car purchased miles away, but the supplying dealer has been very helpfull. :applaus:

I use Inchcape East Kent Audi, and I must be geographically lucky.. I haven't got a bad word to say.. Sales guy I deal with, Jon, has gone well above and beyond on several occasions for me, and service have always been brilliant too - Kam the service manager is one of the most efficient, sincere customer service guys I've ever met.. I feel very well looked after and just wouldn't go anywhere else.. And as for Luke and Simon in parts - those guys are pukka :friends:I guess there are a few poor dealerships out there from the sounds of things, but East Kent are definitely one I highly recommend.

I've learnt over time that all cars (regardless of age) have their gremlins and mistakes can happen too, but how the dealership responds and how you are left to feel is incredibly important. When you are left to feel like they are uninterested and it becomes an "us" and "them" scenario, it is easy to lose faith in a company as a whole. It's a shame there are often such massive inconsistencies in franchise type businesses.

I have used Hull Audi which is part of the JCT600 Group for the past five years. Purchased the TT MKII from them when they were the Gilder Group. Had this for four years, before the RS3.
As mentioned in previous threads Audi do ok on Sales, but are **** poor on After Sales Customer Care. They only care about selling you a car, preferably new cars, then they don't give a monkeys about there customers. Apart from when they are trying to flog there latest models, deals or promotions.

Any complaints, regular updates on orders which are supposed to be monthly which you end up being forgotten about constantly, or I found if you question the Technical/Servicing then you get given mis-information or fobbed off.

The only thing that Hull Audi are good at about from a very basic custom care when you walk in the showroom (although you can be left waiting longer than necessary), you can be guaranteed a decent temporary car when your car is being fixed compared to some other firms or as an alternative Hull Audi will get someone to give you a lift to your home address or work place, which the drivers are very pleasant. Also, when you manage to book a test drive, I can usually take the car without the Sales Rep as I am a regular, with a good car history. The only demo car that I am having problems due to one not being registered when I visit is the R8.

Warrington Audi have been very good for me, considering there are 5 dealerships closer to me in Telford. :applaus:

STAFFORD AUDI do not buy a car from them or the other 'linked' dealerships - STOKE and CREWE. Shocking dealership with no shame and no aftercare. Rant over and can't comment on servicing just the sales department.

So Piggles have you tried the other dealerships in the group then?

Sales. To cut a long story short there was a massive inhouse fight over selling me a car. Dealer B wanted a car Dealer A was trying hard to sell me but I told them several times I didn't want the car then Dealer A offered me a car Dealer B had we did a deal and a deposit was paid but then Dealer B because of what had been happening at the dealership refused to release the car and then took a deposit from another customer after I had already agreed a deal the day before with Dealership A - does that make sense? They are all supposed to be linked hence they offer people each other's cars but as the customer I got caught up in some fight and I was the only loser and messed about something chronic for about a week.

No it doesn't make any sense at all as there are three Audi dealerships in the Group, Crewe, Stafford and Stoke, you only said A and B.
So you've castigated a dealership you have probably never set foot in and tarred them all with the same brush? Yes in some cases that is true.

I would have walked away, can't believe you accepted that sort crap and then had problems with the car...take it back man!!!

OK remove Stoke but as they are all part of the same group I can't see they would be any different. Do you work for this group?

No I don't but I have had dealings with all three branches and also the bodyshop. And yes Stoke are different, very different from the others...:arco:

Fair point just fuming at being bounced from Audi UK and the Dealership. Each are saying it is the others problem not theirs.

Kick up a stink at Audi Uk, as John says, e-mail Martin Sanders and explain the problems and tell him you want something done, I know I would have kicked up a right old stink at Stafford....:keule:especially paying that sort of wedge for a new car and it's not right.

Who have you been dealing with at Stafford? If the sales staff have fobbed you off, ask to speak to the dealership principal...speak to the engine driver and not the oily rag....:salute:

Preston Audi gets my vote,
Bent over backwards when the RS4 needed a new roof, Had a top spec black line A4 delivered to the door and also a Q7 later on as courtesy cars. Had a few problems with the roof delivery (not Prestons fault) yet they kept me sweet.
Bought quite a few cars now from them!

Who is Mr Sanders and what is his email address?

Time to put my two' pennith in!

Bolton Audi
I'm now on my 2nd car with them and the sales guy I deal with (Gareth) is a credit to the Audi brand, shame one of his 'deal closing' collegues is not! I've not really used their service department so can't comment there...but the way they have handled the 'brake squeal' issue has been great! and they have promised to look after me.

Leeds Audi
Prior to getting my RS3 I put a deposit down on a 1yr old orange TTS and through no fault of my own, Audi Finance took nearly two days to sort out the finance...on the 2nd day I called to get an update and was told "Oh! your finance has now been accepted but during this period we have sold the car to someone else" lol! WTF!...all I can say is I am still in wranglings with them at the moment.

+1 Bolton Audi
We bought 4 cars in the last 18 months...... and although the RS3 has issues at the moment, I continue to get great service and support from all the staff at Bolton Audi. Service department and great, very knowledgable and keep you informed.
Sean Russell in the sales department I can highly recommend and will do his utmost to get you in the car you want.....

suggest you pick one, dealership or Audi UK and get after them...... sorry to hear you're troubles

Although Blackburn audi have been very good with me, I personally will be using GNJ Motorsport. Thier new unit offers servicing and repairs with genuine parts at a fraction of the cost.

Graeme quoted me £235 for the cv joint and boot on my S3 fitted. That was a genuine audi part.

I rang audi for a price just for the parts as I have a voucher... £290 just for parts.

He uses genuine parts for servicing as well so why not go to him.

Michael, have you not tried Shrewsbury? There are our nearest but never heard good things about them.

We had our first New Audi from Shrewsbury a few years back, the sales person (Simon) was really good and service & parts were also.
Then we pop up last year and it seem they weren't interested and didn't return my calls, shame.
Saying that we just had our rear leds replaced on the A4 under warranty there, but Warrington sorted that out for us anyway.

Mr Sanders, top bloke  finally someone who talks some sense, thanks for the heads up but still don't quite understand how, why and who for the u-turn but I'm happy.

See speak to the engine driver....:arco: So have you actually spoken to him?

No just his very nice sidekick. Does he actually exist?
