A3 3 door with electrically adjustable front seats

Hey all, was just wondering how come there's no option for electrically adjustable front seats on the 3 door version.

That option only exist on the Sportback and that's the reason I purchased that model 2 years ago,

I physically can't manually adjust my seat.

I Really hoped they'll include that option on the 3 door version this time around

since I'm really starting to dislike the estate look of my car.

Seems weird though, the bmw 3 door 1 series has that option + memory! the sportback doesn't even offer a memory package.

Any suggestions, ideas? Do you guys think that there's a chance Audi will include that option on the 3 door in the future?

Probably crash reasons, as you maybe wouldn't be able to move the seat forward if power cuts of or quick enough, sb has rear doors so safer.

Can be retrofitted.

Interesting thought, hadn't considered that but makes sense I guess. Maybe it's also problematic with seats which have to slide forward to gain entry to the rear?

They usually now fit an easy access button on the top outside shoulder edge, which moves the seat motor forward/back quicker than the usual side button down by the carpet level.

I'm sure they're available in the A5 coupe, so doubt it's crash reasons.

Maybe just they didn't anticipate enough demand on the A3 to ask the supplier to build them.

The electric seats are also available on the TT, on the 2 door Porsche 911, on the 3 door bmw 1 series and many other "less than 5door cars".

No. I got mine 2 years ago, But seeing the new A3 sportback with those nasty roof rails makes it even worse.

Yeah they are an option. But haven't seen one picture without them.

There has been several pics of the SB without roofrails.

Check out the pics thread as i posted one of a monsoon grey SB a week or so back. Not a roofrail in site

Is that an actual car or one of the early photoshops doing the rounds?

It just doesn't look right to me.

That must be a photoshop - the front grill / fog surrounds are wrong. Nearly all of the publicity and marketing photos of the SB will feature roof rails as it was initially specced to come with them as standard. I believe that is no longer the case (for UK models at least).

If it makes you feel any better, it did the same for me. I managed to spot about 4 sportbacks without roof rails amongst the hundreds of images.

I've gone through all the images on my iPad and drawn a blank I'm afraid. Mind you, I'm probably collecting my car this weekend so can furnish you with plenty then. :thumbsup:
