Broken down need help ASAP

Driving along all was fine, clutch went half down stuck there then went full down wont come back up, pulled it up gently and a white clip pinged off when the pedal lifts up it locks up and the if you press down it snaps down and stays down. Any ideas to start looking whilst I'm waiting for the aa? Thanks guys

Sounds to me like the pedal is no longer connected to the master cylinder, either pivot end of the master cylinder is broke or the pivot/pedal is damaged. Only way to know for sure is to stick your head under the dash and have a look

Yep... std clutch pedal fail... little metal plate on the back of the section the clutch master cyl attaches to the pedal is held on with spit... this pops off and the white plastic clip goes through resulting in the pedal staying on the floor

That's the one tuft. The white clip come out when I pilled clutch up getting recovered now he said there's no leaks and the push pin isn't going into the cylinder he said could be seals, if I look and it's the same as that pic what part do I need to buy?

looks like I'm not getting my tattoo tomorrow, money going to be spent on the car...again!

if the clip has survived and the little metal plate has been recovered then you could just have the plate welded back onto the pedal and all will be good in the world else its at the least a new clutch pedal and the worst a new clutch MC...

Got it home it is indeed the ball joint bit, sigh of relief, put a bolt through it and all is well so will be off tomorrow to buy a new clutch pedal, anyone know how much they are as I can't find the on euro car parts?

Ill have a butch, thanks. I found part number but I need to find one tomorrow as I stuck a Allen key through the pedal not the safest hold but there you go... Any idea how much audi would charge?
