Hi Guys,

I have been on here for a while but haven't got round to taking any pics of the car, whilst there was a break in the snow and rain and wind, and as the car was just detailed it seemed like a good opportunity.

As some of you know i bought this car not really knowing much about it and James has been very helpful in helping me find out the whats what of the car and what to do and not to do !

The car has been tuned by MTM and as far as AMD can tell it is running a stage 2 remap and Miltek TBE with Sports Cat, and also i noticed at the weekend eibach spacers front and rear, next job is to change the look slightly with the assistance of James this will happen on Saturday, i have got some MY09 rear clusters to fit and there will be some badge changing and some plasti-dipping so watch this space.

Anyway here are the pics from the weekend - comments welcome

Welcome to ASN.....hope you enjoy it over here....maybe find you at AMDTuning sometime.

Welcome along! Car looks great, is the colour brilliant black? Would be great to see pics once the MY09 lights are fitted. I have a brilliant black A3 and am on the look out for MY11 lights.

Bit of an update

Ok so James helped (actually did most of) some minor modifications on the car this weekend, on the list of works was MY09 rear clusters, badge removal and replaced with black versions and front bumper removal (a) to remove the headlight as i had a broken bulb stuck inside and (b) to paint the grill with matt black plasti dip and wrap the chrome in gloss black and fit black audi rings (which i know are a bit marmite)

Aside of some issues with a cr@p can of plasti dip, which meant removing the vinyl wrap and JamesS3 having to use what was left of his old can the results are still ok

See below (before during and after of the work on the rear)

Excuse the numberplate position, thats not permanent, i just need to get some new stickies to put it back on with, i may well replace the short one on the front with a german pressed one, we shall see.

So comments are welcome, here is a pic with the vinyl on before we had to remove it and i actually think i prefer leaving a bit chrome as the wheels and mirrors match ? opinons ???

Ok well keep us posted on the plans and i'll keep an eye out for ya ! I am always in the area, i dont live far from the office either so you will defo see me or hear me !

PS loving the red,, dont see many that colour if i am honest, be nice to see it in the flesh

Ok gang bit of an update, as you know myself and James had issues with the plasti dip so this weekend just gone we decided to re-do the grill again so stripped it back and cleaned it and dried it and then started the process again, this time spraying the whole thing including the chrome edge, first coat seemed very odd, second coat same thing but we persevered and at the end it had 4 coats and was starting to look ok, still the plasti dip kept not sticking to the grill but this time the results were much better than before. Whilst the final 4th coat dried we also fitted a boost gauge into the heater vent and this although a pain is a really nice mod and the gauge looks good in the vent and also has the needle sweep and matches very well with the standard dials in the car.

Pics below - comments welcome, i know it wont be to everyones taste, the next plan is to stop sodding around with the grill and pay out for a black optics one (cheapest one i have found new is for £313.48 inc VAT) so if anyone has one or knows of one coming up cheap secondhand please let me know - cash is waiting lol !

Once again many thanks to James for putting up with me and my uselessness !!

Loving the turbo gauge that's mint!

Yeah i love it, i keep looking at it instead of the road though lol ! i think i may get another one to put in the other vent now, i never use the centre two anyway so may as well have it symmetrical lol ! Not sure what to go for though they do quite a few different ones !

No i must resist, black optics grill and wheels and suspension are my next things and nothing shiny or pretty must stop me !!
