A4 Starline DRL group buy

Cheers buddy.

I'll be very interested to see what they say.

Danny

this is the response I had from car-mod shop

"The broken ones are the old style, they have now been fixed with a better design.
The light output is pretty good i think as it takes a 65W H9 bulb.

You can convert to bi-xenon for an extra £40 aswell.

We have 2 sets left in stock with no more for a few months yet"

good news is whatever the problem was it seems to have been fixed, bad news is even if we got 5 to buy we couldn't have them for a while.....

Bi-xenon for £300 all in. I like it.

I think that's a fair response.

You going for one of the last 2 sets mate?

Dan

No i think i'm going to wait a month or so to see if we get anymore interest on group buy otherwise it would be £340 for the bi-xenon. not sure how they make them xenon for just £40, is it just a bulb? i probably go down that route rather than fitting HID.

Still want a set but can hold fire for time being..........i think

Yeah, I "think" I can wait too.

I need to do something though as I hate my reflector lights, they are spoiling the front of the car.

I'm not fussed about DRL as I already have these, but I need HID.

Maybe OEM projectors would be the way to go???

Having spoken to him again it sounds like its HIDs he's on about not xenons!!

He will do starlines plus a hid kit, slimline ballasts colour of your choice all for £300 +postage. They're HID kit is normally £50.

Have you got a link to the hid kit only, I already have a set of these lights.

Thanks

I'm not sure i can wait that long!!!!

So what's plan B???

Don't know mate, without having 5 interested I've not really got leverage to get discount. You could always send them an email and see what they say fella....

H11 XENON HID CONVERSION KIT - CANBUS PRO Buy Online

here you go mate, any pics of the lights fitted. How have you found the output on them?

 thanks for that, I've had them for 6 months but never got round to fitting them, the car is in the garage now having them fitted amongst other things . Should have it back for the weekend. I don't expect them to be great, I'll let you know when I get it back.

I'd just double check the bulb type mate as I'm sure the original units were a h9 bulb!

Look forward to pics when u get the car back fella.

Ah I see - I just wondered if you got rid of them because they were rubbish lol.

Cheers

I think there interchangeable, the bulbs are slightly different but the holder they come in are the same fitment, I'll double check anyway thanks.

ive had mine fitted now for a few weeks at first the output was poor with the supplied H9 bulb so i swapped them for some Ultra power bulbs 5000k quality still not impressed then i went to some cheap flebay 100w bulbs and found them to be ok even the colour was matching the drl's and looking like HID nice and bright white but main beam wasn't to good now i have gone with some H11's osram nightbreakers + with the tabs shortened much the same way as the mod for H9 bulb into H11 fitting and the output is a lot better even main beam only prob is you loose some of the colour temp not as nice and white as the H9 100w bulbs but still nice

i like the look of the link for the hid kit but does that not open up a can of worms regarding headlight washers levelers and so forth for the mot ??? any light thrown on this will be appreciated ( excuse the pun lol)

IMAG1009here are the results with the osram nightbreakers + fitted low beam
IMAG1010high beam

IMAG1011from distance

IMAG1012and the change in colour temperature not a true white like the drl's
IMAG1013and a shot with the modded H9 ultra bright fitted into the H11 fog lights
i would of been happy if the nightbreakers were the same colour temp as the led's / H9 ultra brights
but im sure i will find a good match soon enough

Have you tried user t8ups for bulbs you looking for?

Cheers for the post NOZ, I've got osram in my halogen and used them in previous car to and thought they good. However agree they do look yellow next to LEDs.

So, are we happy with the output of these with the HID's fitted?

We have got round the projector clips issue as they have changed the design apparently.

I am ready, and itching, to press the button on these.

Dan

Ugh.

£300 is a big ticket item for me, on a par with a washing machine or TV.

I'd like to make sure I'm not buying something that won't wash clothes or display Jeremy Kyle in standard definition!!!!

For £300 I need adequate illumination and near OEM quality.

Been to the body shop lights and new grill fitted picking it up tomorrow.
It a crap phone picture will get more tomorrow.

They look awesome mate.

Be interested in how you get on with them.

Dan

Thanks, I'm pleased with the outcome so far it just freshens up the from end, I hate the standard grill :).
Will probably order the hid kit sometime this week I have 6000k H9 bulbs installed at the moment but I've yet to see them as it's still being sprayed.

Here is a slightly better picture.
