Audi A4 Cabriolet 2.4 Sport Storyline

Just ordered new rear light clusters. £132 from some eBay guy that is breaking a B7 cab. I may buy the bonnet and wings from him too. Not the grill and the bumper beacuse I want the S-Line one.

I will have my old lights for sale PM me for details.

Okay so finally I got the B7 rears UK version! Remember to buy them here not like eastern Europe because the fog light is on the wrong side! MOT Failure I believe.

So these are coming out soon! I will update you guys.

they dont fail the mot

can i just ask why didnt you just get a B7 ?
with the money and work your doing you could have just bought 1

In left hand drive you have to have one on the right side. Some cars have two. I am not quite sure. Just a thought.

dont forget to code them up so they work as they should

B7 in the spec I want is pretty expensive. I am getting an insurance pay out and I can do all the work myself just need to get the parts. I am also getting a full paint job soon. And I paid peanuts for the car. So still haven't gone near exceeding the budget for this car when it comes to comparing it with a B7.

And as far as I am aware the B6 vs B7 (look wise) is only:

- Steering wheel,
- Back lights,
- Key fobs,
- Head unit,
- The front - bonnet, lights, bumper, grill, wings,
- Apparently better acoustics in the roof although I don't care for it my car is really quiet anyway, glad it isn't a diesel.

And obviously the B7 has different wheels and also engine choice and I think they do 7-speed in the multitronic (?) but don't quote me on this one.

:)

This is the harness that it came with. Can you help with coding? Or give me a hint at least?

you need VCDS to code them
they will work but the top lights will be to dim
think thats what it is

I swear I've seen this somewhere on forum but instead of programming they used a custom harness.

Finished product. Next mod is to put LED in them so need some P21W LED, PY21W LED and some standard SMD cap-less LEDs. Of course it will be more expensive to make them CAN compliant. Will take some pictures in the day light tomorrow.

I have gone to Bristol Audi today to pick up some Automatic Transmission Fluid for continuously variable automatic gearbox. There was one really stunning girl working there! I would say better than R8! I think I will put a job application in!

IMG_1660.JPG

I also received the Home Coming/Leaving lights module. Will fit it soon and update you on how to do it and how it went. :)

Hi guys,

Small update. I started upgrading LEDs. I got some photos will upload tomorrow probably. Topped 500ml of ATF into the gearbox and works slightly better. So I will do the 7.7 liter replacement soon. I also got paid from my insurance so hunting for B7 parts and blowing money on the car all the way. :)

Let's get the ATF party started. So what I discovered recently is that I get most of the jerking and juddering when the car is going/parked downhill. I think is due the oil level being so low now that when the car is on the gradient (nose-down) all of the oil is gathering in the front of the gearbox while the pump is at the back so there is not enough oil pressure at the back and the gearbox can't grab the chain correctly. While I am on the gradient also an weird oil sensor message pops up on DIS. Is there a oil sensor in the Audi CVT 01J FYX Multitronic?

IMG_1523.JPG

The engine oil is full all the time I check every few days. This only comes on uneven surface. I know that there are some electric problems with those sensors. Once I get a definite answer then I will get a new sensor. I will go ahead with the gearbox oil replacement first.

So...

The folks at Audi were very nice I got a coffee and a discount!

So the tools and bolts now...

I will update you guys on progress later when I get round to do it.

the sensor light is the engine oil sensor
prob nakerd

Took in the LED delivery the other day. I still need to order some more different ones. I haven't fitted them because I never have time and it was so cold lately.

Top left are going to light the number plate.
Top right went to the sun visor lights.
Bottom left - couple are already fitted in the boot. One suppose to go to the glove box although I am not getting any voltage there so need to check the fuse. The extra couple I assessed wrong and wanted to fit them into the panel above the mirror although there are some different bulb types I have to research and buy.
Bottom right - wanted to replace the door repeater lights although these are low quality LEDs they light up for a second in there and then go out so old bulb will remain there.

This is all the lights on the dome and sun visor lights:

This is just the sun visor lights after replacement and already much brighter:

Sorry for the low quality pictures. I will take my DSLR to take some better photos once I will get the replacement done.

Key replacement isn't going so well as I hit some troubles. The blades are slightly different size. I don't want to destroy anything especially my blade which is longer and to make it fit into the new key will take some DIY. I am not certain I can program them into my car either. I will see what I can do and pick the most reasonable solution. If it I won't be able to program them before fitting the blade then I will just stick with the old key and will have a couple B7 keys for sale.

I am starting to have gearbox problems. Stupid CVT box. Anyone know where I can get a software upgrade files for it and how to apply the upgrade via VCDS?

pretty sure it's a bit mroe than just a software upgrade!

You are right. Gearbox has the latest firmware uploaded. I have bigger problems than that though. I am looking for a replacement box at the moment. I drained the oil out of it exactly 4.2 liters and it had golden glitter in it and bits and bobs out of something that is dying. Put back 5 litres in exactly how ElsaWIN specifies. Box makes a horrible noise too. I will upload some old oil pics later. But I don't give up on my baby at all so detailed her all morning today! She will live!

Hi guys,

Bad news. Audi died few days ago. Gearbox just lost drive. It jerked and juddered then viciously downshifted span its front wheels and that was it. It is pretty brain dead too doesn't even go to emergency mode or anything.

I know the triangle is a bit too close :p

German solidarity! Towed it home and it will wait for next step on the drive.

Could have predicted that this is going happen as this is what I found in the old gearbox oil:

Due to huge lack of gearboxes for sale for this car I am possibly facing a sale and getting another car. Best value for money I can sell this for I can either get an old BMW 330i / 330Ci or a Mazda RX-8. So unfortunately guys I might be leaving you soon. :3sadwalk::sob:
