I wish I could of had a silver S3, but there only 4 S3's here in Dubai and the silver one wasn't for sale, had to go for yellow.

ha ha ha, we have LHD cars here, so I cant even bring is back to SA. I will definitely take the engine though

I paid the equivalent of R50k for mine here in Dubai. It was stock with 110 000 KM. Body needs some tlc as the people here dont care about other peoples car in car parks and always open their doors onto your car

Sunday I set off to Paul to get my car polished, As usual he did a fantastic job and the car looks ten times better. Also received a interior detail with loads of leather treatment.

Have not done much to the audi of late, guess laziness has taken over.


This weekend I replaced the cam tensioner seal as it was ******* out oil. Absolutely hate this job.

I have started gathering some parts for the Audi's new sound install.

Tel us more about the amp. I dont think 50 rms per channel is going to be enough for the sub. If I remember correctly the sub is 250 rms and I know you want it to bang otherwise you wouldnt of bought a RF

I also see you still have the stock TIP, you need a Badger5 silicone TIP asap

Well played lol.
Ill be doing the install myself, as with all my previous cars.
Sub is 12", but im now selling it and settling for 2 x 10" woofers.
Splits are 5 1/4", ill me making baffles out of MDF to mount them to the door cars, after sound proofing the doorskin and panels.

Dunno where you see 50RMS? The amp is rated at 200RMS per channel and after tested on the birth sheet it makes 949RMS.

Been busy with the floorboard that will house the sliding amp rack.

Ball bearing rails

Sparewheel access cutout and recess made for rails to sit lower

Test fitment

Collected more MDF yesterday so got cracking on the amp rack piece.


Cut to size and lines marked for the rails to be sunken in

Routed

Rails fastened and sliding and clearances checked

Frame around Amp rack mocked up

All holes pre-drilled and counter sunk

And amp rack skeleton done for now

Got some more work done this weekend.


Uprights supports made for the false floor and sub box to rest on

Trunk carpet traced onto the wood for the false floor and cut out

Test fit

Left with some gaps as my jigsaw cutting skills suck

Trimmings masked off and ready for some bodyfiller

Opening routed for the amp

Test fit

Finished off the amp rack with grey carpet to match the sidepanels in the trunk, not that you will see any of the amp rack, just for piece of mind

Bottom support stained black to finish it off and then assembled for the final time

Bought some Hurricane inserts for the sliding rack part to stop it from sliding open and closed when driving.

Got some vinyl to do some wrapping

Tweeter baffles cut out of MDF

Aimed and mounted onto pillar

Covered with felt

Resin applied

Felt sanded

Body filler added, sanded, added, sanded, added, sanded etc etc etc

Covered in same fabric and hoodliner

Wired up and fitted

Onto the wiring.


For the fuse holder I made a little mounting platform

Wiring was then covered in corrugated sleeving and ends received heat shrink

Interior was stripped and RCA's ran down the middle of the car

Power wire through firewall grommet

All speaker wire connections were crimped and received heat shrink

My good pal paul came through sunday to lend a hand

Interior was ghastly so received some cleaning

For the ground a Rivnut was fitted

All the wiring except the RCA's was covered in techflex and end heatshrunk
