Hi can anyone please recommend a suitable boot liner for our new car? We have a dog and need to protect the floor, sides and bumper, it's an A4 Avant. Thanks

I have a liner from Hatchbag.co.uk in my S4 and for me they are the best on the market, mine has the lip protector flap and i also purchased a dog de-odourising mat from them which seems to work well.

Hi longp2,

Do you have any images of the bootliner in place? I am taking delivery of a A4 Avant BE on 2/03 and have been researching suitable bootliners.

The Audi OEM bootliners move about as there is nothing at the front of the A4 boot to retain them in place so I am not keen on that idea.

Are the "Hatchbag" type liners robust as I have read some customer reviews that comment that they are not a very good fit or the velcro straps fail to hold the liner in place. I was thinking of taking the Hatchbag liner and adding the rubber mat but did not want to spend a fortune on something that failed to live up to expectation.

Any advice appreciated

I've had them in my last 3 cars and have not had any issues with them, I have 2 Labradors and not one of them has ripped or failed, the boot lip flap is a saviour when the dogs are jumping in and out, the liners are a perfect fit and they basically Velcro all the way around the sides and have tags to attach the back to the headrest bars. I have attached a photo of the one that I had in my last Octavia. I sold my previous 2 on eBay for £50 each and put the money towards the new one each time.

Thanks for your prompt reply😉
Is the boot liner in your image an OEM one or from hatchbag? I will not be carrying any pets in the boot but will use it for some occasional heavy building materials.
is the A4 avant a good fit?

The one in the photo is a hatchbag and yes the A4 avant one is a very good fit, I'm offshore at the minute but will send post some pics if needed when i get home. Autoform do a rigid liner with a small lip which is ideal for skip runs, mine cost about £25 and i used to have it on top of the hatchbag in the Skoda, I don't plan on putting any rubble into my S4 so didn't buy one for it!!

I recently got an avant and went through the same thought process for my Labrador. In fact I asked the same question on here.

I considered some of the boot liners that only cover the floor, but on my wife's hatchback the sides of the boot became matted with hair so I wanted something to cover the sides of the boot as well.I just shelled out £185 for a boot divider so didn't want to spend too much on a boot liner.

You'll find most of the made to measure boot liners which cover the boot floor and sides cost in the region of £70 to £90.

I've decided to just buy this generic universal one off amazon and I'm hoping that does the trick. I'm sure it won't compare to the more expensive ones but for ten quid you can't go wrong.

Looks like a bargain and it's got the all important bumper flap to stop those claws digging in to the paintwork!
