is 1.7bar suitable for an s3 8l with cai, green cotton panel, agu head with transition gasket, 3" pipe straight thru, relentless mani, all silicone hoses under hood, fmic, custom map, turbosmart dv, debaffled charge pipe? my tuner says these engines are capable of running this boost. ive read 1.5bar is max though.
any advice appreciated
thanks in advance

what boost pressure would be safe to run on this setup?
could this also trigger an overboost code?

if mapped properly there should be no codes..

are you experiencing issues? asking after the map is a bit odd.

Not everyone tunes the same way.. Your custom mapper did what he did... and you paid him for his services.

as for "safe" level.... haha... is there such a thing.. kinda like pin the tail on the donkey

its not just boost which determins the power/safety of the tune.. Commenting further is futile without data to see.

that sounds like a fairly decent st2 spec, but at 1.7 bar, that's 25psi, I'd be concerned about the stock rods myself....

Also, I'd be concerned about why it's mapped to run that much boost? Developments in mapping over the past 2 years or so have shown that to get the best figures from a ko4 you need to keep it down to below 1.5 bar and make the power from the timing.

Ok thanks for advice, gunna ask to be turned down to 1.5bar. Thanks for help peeps

if they had boost at 1.7, I'd ask a load of other questions on all the other parameters they changed, including timing.

Can you recommend anyone round Yorkshire area to map my car? Not really confident in this guy now lol

Where is the closest to Barnsley area? Think I need t make a trip just to make sure its running fine

I've got car back now with 1.47bar boost, running at 248bhp. That sounds bit low to me, what bout u guys? Looks like r-tech here I come

sounds crap if I'm honest mate  Sorry for being plunt.....

Westy has 305bhp from the same boost, granted that's with WMI and a built engine, but it gives you an idea.

Plenty of cars have made 290bhp at both R-tech and B5 from 1.5 bar....

Sounds like old school tuning methods being employed here....

Ok thanks for letting me know, will be going rtech in next month anyway
