I think ASN needs a plumbers section soon! lol

Anyways, I have a Worcester Combi as pictured below, it's working fine, but the timer part is goosed, it's dropping 3hrs a day which is kind of annoying, unless I'm here everyday!

Where's the best place to buy a replacement, and anyone has a how to on how to change it? I know it just pushes on, but I have no idea on how to get it off! Worst case is to call the engineer out and get him to replace it, and get raped at the same time.

I don't know the model number unfortunately.

I sure think we could do with a nice little diy section Joe, with a list of local tradesmen we could call upon for lifes annoying appliance breakdowns/faults. :) x

Prob a how to somewhere on the net mate.

I can't help other than that as my old boiler is in the shower atm

Get a service contract on it, and they won't notice the timer losing time during the 15 minute pre-contract inspection.

Wait 2 weeks, then claim.

Our commercial boiler is covered by British Gas for a very reasonable sum.

Just get a sparky in to do it then. A 30 min job for a sparks. Just disconnect the existing timer or reinsert the blanking plate if it was left with you... Or get another Worcester clock, just a digital version, don't think they are very expensive. They literally just plug in to the pcb

The model no should be on the flap/panel you pull down.
If you take the serial no and GC no you should be able to get one from any Plumbers merchants. ie HRP plumbcenter etc.

So now I have the model number, lets see if a digital timer is available, that would be ideal.

Cheers.

All sorted, just got a direct replacement, couldn't be ***** with digital, and found the instructions on how to replace on youtube. :)

Annoying thing was, it worked perfectly overnight, bang on time when I arrived this arvo @3 lol. And when purchasing these things, the guy quote me £55+vat over the phone and they tried to charge me £73.50+vat when I arrived. Got them back down to the 55 quote after a moan thankfully.
