Hello! Its happened, after a few months owning the S3, I have decided I want to go to Stage-1 soon.

Hopefully you guys could help me as to which company is best to go with, i.e REVO, shark etc.

Is there noticeable differences between the maps, if anyone has any dyno graphs for particular maps that would be great.

Also I have seen people saying you might have to alter the actual ECU rather than map through the diagnostic port?

Would this be the case with my car? (59 plate Facelift 8P S3)

Thanks for your advice,

Ben

I went down the revo route. Stage one then went stage 2 + apr remap. And prefer the apr map as it has loads of trick function. Ie 3 separate maps and a fault diagnostic function. :meeting:

ask rick at unicorn, I'm with shark, but rick is supposed to be good

These things are never cheap mate. But I do feel you pay for what you get Made 367 bhp at stage 2+.

If you go down apr route for stage one then dealer can upgrade you to next level free of charge

The great thing now is that you have a lot of choice, from Revo,Shark,AMD,APR and a few others.

I don't think any one map is a LOT better than any other,as evidenced by the fact that you can't get much over 380bhp out of a K04,and even that figure is a bit dubious.

What is different is the features offered, and the "feel" of each map, with some being more aggressive in boost delivery than others.

I went for Revo, and have stayed with them, for the upgrade to path to 500bhp and more, plus their service.

The best thing is to try as many as possible before buying, and get the one you want.

I had shark on my gti and have revo now on my s3. To be honest the main tuners like revo, shar, apr, are all so similar i would just go with the software that your local tuner supports so then if you have any problems you can take it back easily! :)

Cheers, ha, nice concise answer in capitals. I have no complaints with that!

I think im edging towards SHARK

:) I had my 61 plate (2012) S3 mapped with Shark (N8) via the OBD port, and then shark HQ do the update for it via the same way.

You'll have no problem :)

Contact N8 as he is from Salford, Manchester.

He'll more than likely come to you, or you can visit his unit
