Replaced the MAF Sensor cleared the faults, and re run vagcom to get:-

I've read various posts, saying log 003, 115, 118.
A standard car should be 180 g/s and a mapped card 200 g/s

Can any one tell me what it is?

Thanks in advance.

Coilpack... probably.

Is the maf sensor a genuine one? Has none of the other codes come back?

Yes mate from eurocarparts and yes no other codes come back as yet.

I got a MAF for my a3 from Audi specialists and it wasn't a genuine part so I would double check.

If its not bosch then its not oem. Also it may be faulty, try and find someone local with a working one to swap with.

in block 003, its showing no airflow.. that suggests the MAF is is faulty, not plugged in or maybe has a wiring fault? N75 duty is non existent apart from a couple of blips...

<tuffty/>

Well it's plugged in, we're does this wire run to? Would it likely come loose at that end? The maf sensor wasn't changed that long back and it's been sat for over 12 month un used since I put the car back on the road it's been nothing but trouble different electronic bits going. Is there any way to test them? Also is it not likely to be the n75?

Could be a wiring fault although that normally shows up as an open circuit fault code or similar...

Wiring goes back to the ECU...

As for the N75, fix one issue at a time tbh... once you are getting airflow showing on block 003 for example then at least you know the MAF is working...

Unusual for electrical faults the not throw a fault code... maybe its in limp mode and not using the MAF... not an issue I have seen as yet so tricky to know what to advise...

<tuffty/>

have you tried swapping coil pack 1 with 2 to see if thew misfire moves? if so then its a coil pack, that would explain the fuel trim codes

how do I get it out of limp mode?

shall try this tomorrow, but these codes haven't returned

One thing I did notice when trying it disconnected it made no difference, but when I plugged it back in it was if it tried to cut out but didn't. So would you take this maf sensor back and get them to swap it? If that don't cure it trace the wire back to the ecu? Does this wire have its own plug going into the ecu or is it part of one connector being used for multiple runs?

cheers

Took the MAF back for exchange and installed it, car still running crap juddering the same.
But the:-16487 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too High
P0103 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent.
Fault has cleared in fact there are no faults found.

I did a log of 3, 115, and 116 by error instead of 118 but if its needed i can rerun.

That was just the car on the drive, but the air flow reading something but these reading seem way to low??

Is it worth taking the car for a drive then re run vag com?

drive the thing if it will drive at all

just revving it shows shag all. no load.. so no requested boost etc..

you at least have some readings on airflow now.

016 will show you misfires if its recording them, 031 will show fueling, 115 requested/actual boost, 118 actual boost n75% duty cycle, 020 timing corrections, 002 airflow and injector ms, 003 airflow and ign timing, 001 lambda adjust

If its popping and misfiring look for misfire counter going up, and 031 fueling going >1.000 when on the throttle = lean misfire

see what 001 says when warmed up, and what block 032 adjusts to.. DONT RESET faultcodes if you want to see it learn new values, as that resets the learnt adaptions and is has to start over.

Just took it round the block a few times to see if it was any better/I felt confident enough it would get me home if I nipped out to do some logs.

Its still just as bad so came back, run vag-com and the below errors have come back.

Go put coil pack 2 on cylinder 3 and go out again, that will eliminate or confirm a coil pack issue.

You need a new set of coil packs then, and that will fix your problem.

Phone your local dealer, give them the reg and ask them if it is due for a recall. They'll say yes or no, you might get a free set.

Otherwise, order the TFSI coilpacks of Awesome GTI for £74.99 and run a 0.85mm plug gap like winners do.

Cheers Mate will do that, will this clear the below fault or is this a separate thing

16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Signal too High
P0118 - 35-00 - -

Thanks again everyone

also been reading a few posts RE the TFSI coil packs do they need the adaptor plates?

Nope it's all just marketing poop to make the engine look pretty, they press in fine with no adapters.
