Can someone tell me the best place to get spacers please

The internet!

In all seriousness, I've bought some from eBay before. Not for current car though.
Depends if your wanting generic spacers, or the branded ones. Which you may get cheaper from a supplier, dpm etc.

I've never used spacers before. Is it just the case of buying them and fitting them? Or do I need extra parts or anything?

I just want my car to look wider

Sorry to sound dumb, but what is Dpm?

DPM Performance are a company mate. Can purchase directly off their website or, as Nigel has said, get in touch with Damian from DPM on here and he'll be able to sort you out.

Ordered my coilovers from DPM and the service was brilliant. Going to be ordering some spacers from there myself soon.

What's the best size to go for? If I have standard 8J wheels on? I'm worried if I go wider I'm gonna have to higher my coilovers

Ask Damian, he's a very knowledgable guy, very friendly.

Yup, Damian @ DPM or Graeme @ GNJ (both members/traders on here)... one of them will be able to sort you out. I'd recommend H&R Trax+ spacers, they both stock them in pretty much any size you could need.

You cant use just spacers really, you will also need longer bolts, as the original ones are long enough for your wheels. Not your wheels plus 12mm or so of ally.
Ive not spaced my Audi, but think the bolts are pretty short from memory. Last car i spaced was my 205, which i swapped from bolts to studs and nuts. As i despise bolts. Still unsure why manufacturers use them, theres a reason, i just dont know it.

Also you want hubcentric spacers really. These center the wheel properly. If you dont get them, its possible to get the wheel slightly off. My 205 rears needed perfect placement (non hubcentric, i lathed it off) or you could notice at low speed the back of the car 'bumping' up and down.

+1 on what Rom has said about length of bolts although, if you speak to Damian, some spacers actually come with the longer bolts so you don't need to mess about with trying to source them from elsewhere.

We have a new brand of spacers that we are distributing in the UK

Race Max - Performance Wheel Spacers

I can do 10% off for ASN members. I think you will agree they are very well priced but please don't think that is down to them not being good quality. They are as good as the other spacers we sell.

We have 10mm & 12mm in stock with bolts.

PM for the discount :)
