Getting a bit sick of the above said people. We have CCTV at the house too now and have caught 2 young women spending 3+ minutes in my mothers car routing for stuff and leaving with an empty old purse which was in the glove box and a t shirt in a carrier bag in the rear of the car.

Now the footage shows the pair walking up the street, one stops as if to wait for friend then opens door as the other girl carries on walking down the street.

Now the camera is not clear enough to show faces only what they was wearing.

Is there any sort of gear out there to buy that rings a mobile up when a car door has been opened say after Being left alone for more than an hour without locking.

I know its stupid to leave the car open in the first place, but you just shouldn't get people like this and it sickens me to the point I'm tempted to take a few days off work and set up with a car unlocked with a few quid on show/valuables. Maybe this is entrapment but I may just happen to be watching at the time they attempt to be away with items!

Rant over. Any suggestions of a better setup? I'm thinking of getting a blackvue for my car when its parked up looking at my mothers motor.

Constructive suggestions/help really appreciated

Errr, lock the car?

Bud why don't you try exceptionally hard to remember/get the family to remember/whatever the case - to lock the car, don't you think it seems a bit daft to fork out for an alarm system for when the car is unlocked???

Right there, what he said. These people are on the look out for unlocked cars. You're asking a question when you already know the answer.

invest in better cameras
whats the point in haveing crap cameras that aint clear

Buy a new renault, one of those with automatic locking. My dad has a new scenic and it locks itself as you walk away from the car, it has a proximity card jobbie thingymabob.

Or lock the car....

Car manufacturers spend a lot of money designing the locking systems on cars. Use them.

You could spend a lot of money on a new CCTV system, or even on a tracking system to trace where these young ladies end up.

Or you could use the key and lock the car.

I know what I would do......

Are you sure your not trying to catch a bit of Dogging type Action, with cold nights and an unlocked car door? ....just a thought... if i am barking up the wrong tree,,, sorry...;)

I agree bez, but I also can't see the point of having car door locks without using them too. This thread was never going to get good replies was it :search:

yep i agree but i didnt see the need in saying lock the door

Clearly the answer is to fill the car with angry bees once you park up.
