Hi,

Ive got an A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI and generally get 400 miles from a tank which works out at 25mpg. My driving is mostly dual carriageway and A roads. Ive seen that the 2.0 TDi 170 and 3.0 TDi claim to get lots more, but in my experience the published figures are fairly optomistic.

What have you got and what MPG to you get?

I've been working out my mpg since the start of the year, driving a mixture of A roads and dual carnageways I get on average 31.8 mpg. I drive a remapped 2.0tfsi A4 DTM

Blimey, dont think ive ever had over 30, before or since the remap. Thats good going.

I do drive like an old man on my commute to work, anything to put of starting the day!

My 1.9tdi averages around 49mpg (around 53mpg on a long run). I get around 600-620 miles before the fuel light comes on. I'm doing mostly motorway mileage though

Most i've seen on a full tank on my 3.0 tdi is 570 miles.
That was 90% motorway driving, averaging 70-80mph, with a few blasts upto 90.
Think that works out at 40mpg ish.

This was the most I've ever seen my display read one day last year....couldn't believe it, had to take a pic of it! WP 000022 3

My mistake! THIS was the most.... however as you can see this was at 36 mph 6th gear after a couple of miles on motorway p.s it's a 2.0tdi (and traffic had slowed right down, I was not the only one doing 36 on a motorway)..lol

Are you running a quattro or FWD? I would say 25mpg for a standard FWD 2.0tfsi is a bit on the low side unless you have really got a heavy foot. So many variables to think about. Firstly, hows the car running, when was the last service, tyre pressures, petrol used, weather conditions etc etc..... How are you measuring the MPG? Are you using the car display info? Am always a bit sceptical about the info I get off of mine.

Cheers
A

My commute to work isn't great for MPG, usually get stuck in nose-to-tail traffic on the A52 so works out at 28mpg, but on a long run I can see 38mpg average. Rule of thumb (not accounting for traffic jams) is 35mpg. Thats's a 3.0tdi with a stage 1 map, EGR & DPF delete.

Normal commuting = 380 miles to a 63 litre tank, but have had 500 on a long run to and from Cardiff.

FWD 2.0 TFSI...

Average 30.87mpg over last 4451 miles. I have a spreadsheet. :) Mostly use mine for commuting which is: 10 miles A road, 5 miles motorway and 2 miles in traffic.

Dont ask,
if it werent for the lovely gurgal i get from the engine and the exchaust, i would say i was driving an electric car.

i too have a DTM, what kind of a remap and with who got you those mph stats?

best i can do is mid 20's. i do have a lead foot though :busted_cop:

I have notived that my engine does not like sitting at idle in traffic.....not all!....and the mpg suffers big....it much prefers cruising on the motorway / autobahn! hahaha

On a recent trip home to Scotland, around 380 miles - 42ish. On return journey around 40ish, that was at varying speeds on the motorway. Best I have had was 44 (driving miss Daisy). Short journey's split between town/dual carriageway get around 33-38ish.

22mpg....Audi A4 2.0 tdi 140bhp

I can't believe you guys are getting such poor economy from a 2.0tdi  Something must be wrong....

I'm with jjmurphy21187 on this. The figures you've just described here are more or less what I get from a re-mapped 3.0TDi Quattro Tiptronic.

22?, thats very poor, even I get better than that

Hmm at the moment I'm getting 22mpg on a 2.0T Fsi !
On a motorway run though I can get up to 45mpg.

I get about 25 around town from my TFSI quattro, or 32ish on a long run. The highest figure I've seen on the display is 48mpg, but that was with the cruise control set to 50mph on a motorway journey.

my brothers B7 2.0 TDi FWD gives 470-500 a tank on v power (mainly around town) should see at least 500 miles on the motorway
my B7 2.0 TDi Quattro gives 350-370 a tank on v power (mainly around gown)

I've seen a full tank return a range of 700 miles and an average of 42mpg on my remapped 2.0TDI (140)... saying that I haven't seen a 700 mile range since that one occasion, its normally around 500 miles with mainly urban driving.

In response to this i have a FWD with an Angel Tuning remap supposedly giving 245bhp (havent had it on the rollers yet but its quick), its got 120,000 miles on and is now due a service. Tyre pressures are fine, i run it on standard unleaded (not premium) and i dont trust the DIS, the 25mpg figure is based on getting 400 miles from a full tank. My foot is heavy at times i admit, which wont help. Im due to change so was thinking of a 3.0 tdi Quattro but heard that these only return about 25mpg also, but it looks like its actually more like 30+.

running on my first tank on my A3 1.9 tdie ive just done 550miles fuel light came on at 535. id say roughly 30 miles left in tank... so nearly 600. no idea what the mpg is but was expecting to break the 600 mark easy..

my miles have mostly been motorway but like 40 mile round trips daily to work. with an exception of a 100 mile round trip one time.

my s4 gets on average 61.6mpg, oh erm no... 16.6 mpg.....

I usually get 25mpg around town from my 2.0 TFSi, which equates to approx 330-350 miles from a full tank.
I use a website called Fuelly to track all my fill-ups and have been doing for the last 11k miles, I started logging on 28.02.12.
The stats tell me I am averaging 28.3 mpg over those 11k miles and my best ever was 36.1 mpg on a run to Scotalnd and back from Manchester, driving within the speed limits and not really going much over 70mph.

I traded my 2.0tdi quattro for a DTM tfsi quattro. Struggled to get 40mpg in the oil burner and DPF/egr and general ****ness of the PPD 170 put me off. Great when they are running well i just had a bad one i fear. 2.0TFSI is a miles better car for me even with a 70 miles a day commute.I can get 35 mpg no problem in the TFSI with 340bhp and K04 turbo. One thing of note is that the DPF (TDI) and CAT (TFSI) are really restrictive. I saw an extra 5mpg on the petrol with a decat/sports cat and if you do a search the guys who remove the DPF see the same.

400 miles from a tank is more than 25mpg.

I don't know the exact size but I think its a 65 litre tank from recent experience, so 400 miles would equal 27.9mpg

I have a REVO stage 1 remap, no other engine mods. I do drive like an old man most of the time! :sorry:

My 170 2.0 tdi a3 with remap gets around 47 around town and on the motorway around 57 the most I have seen is 67mpg. So I imagine abit less for the a4 but not as low as 20-30s there must be something else wrong.

I get aprox 350-380 so its about 25mpg which is quite crap for a 2.0 Quattro. if I knew it was that bad I would of brought the 3.0 Quattro instead

32.5mpg over the last 18,206 miles. 70% motorway and 30% city driving. Driving style is spirited. Get around 450.4 miles per tank.

Have noticed a big difference however since I've had new tyres fitted, wheel alignment done and tyre pressures up to 42psi. Can't confirm yet as I only filled up yesterday so will let you know how many miles I get to the tank now.

I'm with Olly on this.. I am remapped (DNA Tuning) and see 31mpg
