Nice crack !lol
This happened to me a couple of years back, scarry when it happens!

New one being fitted Weds morning, standard Audi green tint but with the grey sunstrip

Its best to get it done straight away.the crack in mine doubled in length in a matter of days!
I was a bit slow off the mark with my previous insurance as they asked me if i had the sunstrip, and if i had auto dimming mirror and rain sensors, and i said no, if i said yes i could have retro fitted these mods.

I'm not going through insurance, luckily I have a mate in the business (and not Autoglass), so £145 fitted

Why are you not going through insurance if you don't mind me asking, and is it cheaper. I have two small chips in mine (nothing illegal) and looking to get the screen replaced soon.

Welcome to my world!.....the gravel they stick down on the roads here are killer! In Spring they literally use road sweepers to hoover up the gravel they chuck down on the road! Hence the bonnet bra....it works wonders, Fugly but effective, my previous car had to have 3 winsdscreens replaced in 2 years at 200 quid a pop via insurance! After fitting a bonnet bra...no damage. It's stays on from End Oct till end March. As the ad' says....you get a chip... get it fixed pronto, or else it soon becomes a crack!
Cheers

Have you not got windscreen cover on your insurance?

My excess is £85, the new screen is costing me £145 fitted with the grey sunstrip. My mate will put it in so there won't be any issues.
I have a few bad experiences with Autoglass, so I would rather pay that wee bit extra for peace of mind.

Can't your 'mate' do it through the insurance like every other garage who does windscreens?

Unfortunately I took my insurance out last time with my bank when they introduced an "all in one" deal, sounded great (grrr never again, stay away from them lol), anyways as a result the small print lists a "partner exclusive" clause, so hence Autoglass & one other.

Damn ! Thats annoying ! Hope you get it fixed okay :)
Even Gavin from Autoglass cant fix that ! :moa:

Damn, imagine if that stone had hit the bonnet[/QUOTE]

It would of gone through the bonnet !!
