Have a silver S3 and am planning on getting the rear windows tinted (partly for looks but also to keep the sun out of my baby girls eyes )
On the looks side what shade / darkness do you think I should go for?
I've tried google searching but can't find any quality pics to reference.

If you have pics too that would be a massive bonus.

I have a silver car and the factory tints look good on it, not sure of the percentage though.

These were standard factory tints in my old car which looked fine so go for it.

Think its about 70% on our privacy glass

legally your allowed to tint all windows expect the windscreen up to 35% if you car is manufactured before 2004

Whatever you do don't go too dark. It looks so Halfords and silly. If you want to do it then go for a lighter shade - ~35% sounds good.

Tinted vehicle windows - the rules

If you’ve got tinted vehicle windows, the front windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows 70%.

There are no rules for tinting the rear windscreen or rear passenger windows.
It is also illegal to sell a vehicle with heavily tinted windscreen and front windows.
Penalties for having wrongly tinted windows

The police or VOSA vehicle examiners use light measuring equipment to measure window tint.
If your windscreen or front side windows are tinted too much you could get:

• a ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed
• a penalty notice or court summons

ive got a denim blue with black theme going on (lights wheels badgless) and im going to be doing 5% (halfords dark) to the rear not to everyones taste i know, im going to be doing it myself i know im brave but its saving me a £100

£85 for the rear 3.
Extra £40 for the front 2

got a place near me that does it £25 per window and they excellent ive taken my last 5 cars to him, he charged me £175 to come and collect my range rover do all the windows except front screen and deliver it back to me which i thought was ****** brilliant
