car cleaned... (pics) think i want a wheel change???

cleaned my car today with g3 detox then give it a coat of g3 resin wax afterwards... got a good shine to it ive been thinking about changing my wheels over the last few weeks and ive decided i definately want another set of wheels, think ill stay with 19s but want something a bit out of the ordinary, something wide, maybe staggered fitment... been looking at few different range rover 19s but not 100% on anything in particular, really like atheo 19s off a touareg, 3sdm looks amazing too... just cant make my mind up!!

cheers mate, got ap coilovers all round, front arches rolled to limit scuffing... i loved the wheels when i first got them, just fancy something different, seen afew golfs and a3s around my area with bbs ch's now and its made me want a change, so many rims to choose from just cant choose!!!

just angel of the pic mate, its not had any paint work..... yet! front arches need a lick over after the frost and salt have worked its way in to some chipped off paint (coilovers and sh*tty english roads!)

not used my polish yet... went halfords couple months back and they had a deal on 'buy 2 get 1 free' so ended up walking out with...
detox shampoo
paint renovator
scratch removal/repair
turbo detailer
clay bar kit
micro fibre cloths
compound and buffing pads
resin superwax

when the weather picks up ill be using the lot in one long day of cleaning i just used the shampoo and wax today and it still come up well

yeah ill be investing in a buffer i think, had a little go with the scratch removal and pad when i first bought it on a little scuff... it took AGES to remove a light scratch, did work though just dont fancy doing it by hand when a buffer will do it it minutes lol!

You know it mate!! If you know what your doing you can skip the claybar and use a cutting compound on the buffer then switch to a finer polish and a softer buffer head, I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE MOPPING CARS THO!

ive got no experience with cutting and buffing to be honest mate, all my other cars so far have been primarily to go quick, but after i bought my a4 i wanted to get it looking fresh and gleaming, it does have swirls and minor scrathces all round (probably from drive through car washes and bad polishing technique) got a mate who knows a thing or 2 about detailing so bought this stuff ready for when ive got a bit of knowledge on the job with me, dont fancy ruining my paint lol!!

Yeah stick with the clay mate, keep everything nice and wet, if you hear a 'ziiiiiiiiiiiiip' like sound STOP and clean everything and start over.

I think lm's are nice wheels too but you will see allot with those too. I think you will get that with any wheel.

3SDMs always look awesome, people argue that they are overdone but personally i wouldn't care as they look the nuts!

Cheers mate, I've not seen any cars with 3dsm's as yet, I agree they do look good! Really aggressive with the width and curve on the spokes, good do with some photo shopped on mine see what they look like!

Thanks mate, yours really suits the ch's, I still like mine but just recently a fair few people in my area have put ch or lm's on there golfs, a3s, leons ect... Maybe I inspired them haha! Just fancy a change really, would maybe keep my ch's for winter wheels

Can't remember if there was a spec name to the coilovers mate, got them from deemon Tweeks with a nice discount... Brilliant suspension! Apparently made in same factory as kw with same materials just a whole lot cheaper, my ap's have kw stamped bump stops too. Best coilys I've had tbh

I was really into the 0.01's at first but saw yours few days ago when searching google images and then got even more spoilt for choice! They work really well mate... Sound the same as mine.

Weitec they are basically oz varient 1s but under a diff colour and name.

Yeah they do.I think in time i will get some but at the min im happy with my RS6's. Perfect fitment and also give the aggressive look as they are 8.5J all round. Definitely awesome wheels. Look good on Matte black too!

they are 18x8.5 front et 30 and rears are 18x9.5 et 43 there lovely wheels and you can order them any colour from 3sdm at no extra charge and yeah red is definantly the best colour

Do you have a good stretch on the tyres? Really like the look of them mate, Be good to see what they look like with coilovers, wide and low! You got plans for suspension?

well as mine is a quattro i have to run the same size tyre all round i went for a 225/40/18 was perfect stretch on the rears front had a little but noting special ..... yeah coilovers will be bought this year too i think i have a pic of the stretch will have a look

also i had to fit 20mm spacers to the rears for them to clear the suspention also did the front too looked sick
