First timer new to audi couple of quick questions

Hi all, picked up my 59plate 5door a3 sport 1.9 a couple of days back just a couple of quick questions I hope somebody could help me clear up.

The rubber seal that goes all the way around the door has a 6" tear in it as a result its 'flapping' now I can't see it been a major problem at the moment as it will still provide a seal somewhat. Just wondered if its a common problem. I've got to go to audi in a couple of weeks anyway for a cherished plate transfer and will be asking them to replace it. (I've searched the forum but can't find anything)

I can't, even after reading the manual get my head round the dashboard function options mpg speed etc what's the difference between 1 and 2 in the top right corner. Also what does the function button do on the steering wheel?

Does the handbrake always catch the centre armrest and knock it up a little or is it too tight? Find this a strange thing to happen since everything else is made so well?

The rubber seal can be easily replaced and if you've recently bought the car from Audi they should fix it free !

The option 1 and 2 in the DIS (Driver Information System) refer to which computer memory is in use. You toggle between the two and computer 2 shows information stored over 1000's of miles ( I can't remember how many ! ). Option 1 shows the current details

You toggle between them by pressing the button underneath the wiper stalk.

The centre armrest always does what you describe and to set it you must have the handbrake off, push the armrest down as far as it will go and then lift to the required height, at which point it will lock. An unusual design flaw in my opinion but there is nothing wrong with yours.

Arhh great thanks for the replies. Literally had the car 2 days loving it so far this was the first forum i came across so unsure whats meant by the 8p and 8L bit sorry guys. Ill look into it.
