ive been browsing lately for some boots for the A3 and cant seem to set my heart on a fixed one and thought you lads may help :)

Rota Gunmetal Grey 17*8 = 16lbs weight/wheel

Rota Blitz (Gunmetal) Alloy Wheels (Alloys) - Rimstyle.com

Team Dynamics Pro race 1.2's 17*.8 = 19.8 lbs/wheel

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 (Anthracite) Alloy Wheels (Alloys) - Rimstyle.com

Oz racing ultraleggera 17*8 = 17.6 lbs/wheel

..... and thats the a3.. not sure whether to go for black or anthracite

Hi mate in my opinion they are going to look tiny in 17'. All the wheels you've shortlisted have a lip, this will make them look little and on a big car like the sport back they'll be lost.... Just my opinion...

what do you reckon ? 18's ? im after lightweight wheel to be frank, the OEM ones on it are 17's at the moment and the got bridgestone adernaline potenzas re002 on there so id hate to throw a them tires at 300 a corner

Can't go wrong with a set of BBS CH or LM wheels.. go for 18's

18x8.5J CH weighs in at 20.2 lbs

18x8.5J LM weights in at 21.6 lbs

His right.

Those what U have now looks better. If U bored paint them ror different color. Purple?

This wheels from Your link looks good minimum 18 and with big brakes behind

im trying to refrain from 18's what would you recommend out of the wheels i posted above though :) please

Should you change your mind on 18's I have a set of genuine totally unmarked, gloss black BBS CH 18x8 ET44 for sale. Cleaned, polished and ready to go. No tyres. Would look good on your A3. Collection or can deliver for the cost of fuel. PM me if you're keen and I can send photos.

Rota for ricers..

Between the OZ and the Team Dynamics.. OZ are very nice but demand a premium in terms of cost.

The Team Dynamics are a very good, lightweight wheel on a budget.

All will look rubbish on a standard A3 in my opinion though..

17" aftermarket wheels are a no no. You'll need lowering springs &18's.
Or just buy an S-Line :)

Sevv i dont like the fact you have shown me a website where you can pay finance on wheels especially as there are speedlines on there for my S3 .................. the devil on my shoulder is saying yes :ninja: and my minds telling me no  hahaha

Get these bought....

If it was me I,d get some nice OEM wheels with tyres and sell yours, 17" after market won't look good imo

well im waiting on some Bilsteins b14's to come from awesome gti, and ill be looking at some tarox 6 pot piston big brake kit also within the month or so? would that some how make it better or strictly 18's ?

what you guys reckon would look better matt black or anthracite / gunmetal grey like the Oz's

@Matt, please don't tempt me shipping to OZ is 260 pounds according to awesome gti lol, ill have to ask Mike if he can do shipping for them OH BOY!!! its a nice offer !!

@Rubbab thanks for the offer mate but im still lost how much do they weigh though the BBS CH's 20.1 lbs? compared to the OEM wheels

P.S thanks everyone for the replies i really appreciate it

@Morells i have the same thing here in Aust. i can get 1 year interest free however at a price of 1740$ for 17's id hate to see the price of 18's

I'll echo what everyone else has said - 18's or don't bother. Especially if you're considering a big brake upgrade as stated in your last post! Will they even fit under 17's?!

I cant see the rota's looking too small tbh. Think they'd be your best bet if you can't stretch to 18s.

As said earlier in the thread, you cant beat a set of BBS, theres lots to choose from depending on your budget.
starting from the VZ's for about 650 up to the Ch and Ch-R, I'd also recommend getting 18's, just makes the stance look meaner.
i'm in the process at the moment on chosing rims as well, looking at the BBS CK just for the OEM style.
its really all down to personel choice and budget, just go with what you feel is good, everyones different.
Check out the rims thread on the A3 section, some bad *** rims on there.

yeah i guess well ill go for 18's im just after weight reduction, want a wheel for everyday use and the track so something lightweight and solid should do me

Can only echo the above, 18's are the way to go.

17's look lost on a 3dr, never mind a Sportback.

might go for the Ultraleggeras matt graphite silver if Matt doesnt answer though not sure how to go about shipping to OZ :(
