im thinking of getting rid of my green panel filter and getting a new induction kit, what do you guys think and what would you recommend if I was to change?

cheers Olly

Previous owner put a K&N cone filter on my S3.... Quite impressed with it and sounds nice. Releases a nice 'Swoosh' sound aswell but thinking of upgrading to a Badger5 Tip and Jetex filter. That's what's highly recommended on here.

hi tufty iv got the TIP I just need a cone if I went down that route, would you recommend it over the standard box with green panel.

cheers mark I think that might be the best way to go.

If you want a Jetex/JR filter get one either from badger 5 or Jetex themselves as they both stock the redesigned version that has a much stronger rubber neck.

The newer filter is part number FC-08012

Thats what i bought about a month ago and am very pleased with it

This might explain why the rubber next on my cone split straight away. I've repaired it with a piece of silicone hose but I wasn't impressed. I'm guessing they got a few complaints so made it stronger.

so is it safe to say that everyone would recommend the jetex over the standard box with green panel filter, and is there anything else I would need to do if I bought one of these

im looking at getting a jetex seems the wise choice either that or the s2000 mod but prefer the look of jetex, im a bit of a noob when it comes to this bit what difference does the badger 5 tip make? and it says ko4 turbo im asuming it fits a ko3 too

Won't fit a K03...

Yes, save to say a jetex is good. I didn't notice much performance increase from k/n panel filter, the noise increased, more turbo spool noise and some think its a dump valve. Not to every bodies liking.

I had this exact problem, I contacted JR who i bought the filter from and they said it was my fault for over tightening the clip. I argued with them on the phone and manged to get a refund but had to pay postage to get it back to them. i was not impressed!

I then contacted Jetex who said that the fault had been highlighted (i think by B5) and they themselves had mad a new mould and made it much thicker and the base of the filter is also much thicker and stiffer. The neck has a bigger space for the clip and a beveled edge to stop any slippage.

Only B5 and Jetex sell the new style and i got one with the nice chrome cap too :)
