Hi,

I bought an RS3 grill in black a couple months back and have been sitting ducks since as it did not come with the grill surround or the adapter that holds onto the rings.I assumed i could just go to audi and order the parts in,this was not the case as audi only sell the whole grill as one so that is not helpful as i have the main part already.I have managed to find a RS4 rings adapter on ebay for sale,it looks very similar in size to the rs3 one as the rings are the same size so i guess it should clip on .

Now the only thing left is the grill surround.I bought one for the a3 a month back from BKS tuning and for some reason it did not fit onto the grill,i thought as the a3/s3/rs3 grills all fit onto the s3 bumper the grill surround should also fit on.So i had to return that and am back to square one now :(

I was wondering if anyone could get me a RS3 grill surround or know of one that fits as it is literally the only thing that is holding me back from doing my conversion and i don't want to fork out for another grill

Any help will be much appreciated

I actually bought this of this website and it didnt fit on my grill for some reason,It's weird rob that ur one off ur a3 fitted perfectly and the one i bought didnt fit.

yeah the mesh bit is also missing what the rings clip onto.the problem is that it is very rare to find that mesh part.I listed the RS4 for sale on the link above and i think that should fit on.

in regards to that website tommy,it looks like it has a full list of all the parts for the grill but it doesn't give me a picture of any of them .I have registered but hopefully they will let me make an account as i do not own a automotive business.

Ive been given a quote on ebay for a used complete grill for £350 what is £70 more than i paid for this brand new one.not sure if i should just buy that and then sell this incomplete one on .

what year is your car? the 8P3 ranges uses the same grill type, as i've fitted both the s3 and the RS3 grill to my MY12 BE. I think the one you bought is for a 8P2. was it slightly smaller?
get in touch with A3Kent, he maybe able to sort you out the correct surround.

£350 is not too a bad a price, is that brand new?

I have a 2011 A3 black edition and this is the only thing holding me back from my conversion, had some fool hit me in a parking lot in heathrow a year ago and it the damage is minor to my grill and bumper so i have just been dealing with it until i gather all my parts up .

I bought the exact one on the link above from BKS tuning ,but i just assumed it would be for the 8P3 as they the majority for their products are for the 8P3.It was a just a bit small as you say so i guess that is the problem .It truly made no sense as in the picture below of the parts i have gathered up the grill fits perfectly.

I am going to measure the rings section up on my grill when i next get to it and if it matches the RS4 ones for sale on ebay then i will buy them.I will be sure to send him a message as audi only sell the grills whole :keule:. It is a complete front Rs3 bumper with grill for £795 on ebay what is a pretty good deal,it looks quite used and the seller offered me £350 for the grill seperatly .

Once ive sorted all this out i will only have side skirts left, which i might just have to bite the bullet and go to audi as they are rarer that RS parts on ebay. but are a bump in the dealer.

Looks like you got good plans for the car, can't wait to see it all.

Thanks mate , Will be sure to put a massive build thread up once im finished with it .

Am gonna debadge the car though ,not a fan of these people who put RS3 badges on their cars . Saw this 8p2 with quad exhausts and a RS3 badge in newcastle the other day .

meh its an s3, if it was on a 1.6 then that would be worrying.

Spot the difference..... Prefer the Gloss Black front end..... especially on an 'RS3'

You've gone to some expense acquiring the RS3 front end...... how on earth are you going to achieve the front flared wheel arches.

I never planned on putting the RS3 front bumper on ,have got a S3 one as firstly it is a lot of hassle and secondly i feel the 2.0 TDI engine will not do justice to the RS3 front end. Originally i was only planning on changing the skirts to the S3 ones but then my front got damaged by some idiot in a car park so i decided i might as well go the whole way and do the front and back too.Im thinking of spraying my fog grills and front diffuser gloss black like this guy has done on his S3 to add to whole Black & White theme.
