Right sorry to be another person to probably ask the same questions but.....

I have a 2005 B7 S4 Auto with RNSE. Standard 3 spoke S4 wheel. No CC.

I want to fit a MFSW, CC and eventually my parrot kit. I have bought the cruise stalk, the plastic trim and a MFSW and now need to work out what else I need.

I believe I will need a new slip ring and may need a new control module although there are conflicting stories on this.

Is there anyone who can help me with this. I am after a list of part numbers ideally that will get me up and running. I can fit the bits myself but then need someone with VCDS to work their magic, anyone in the Gatwick area?

Thanks guys.

Will

Try Ben @ Shark Performance. He did mine back in 2008.
Cheers

Thanks mate bit of a trek for me though......

This is what i thought............any idea of the part numbers?

Thanks

Part numbers are

Slip Ring - 4E0953541B
SWCM - 8E0 953 549 Q
Airbag Harness - 4F0 971 589 A

i put a B8 wheeel on mine when i did it as it has the nice silver bits and felt thicker (might be just because it was newer )

Awesome thanks mate. Whats the airbag harness for? I am re using my airbag.....i hope.......

Your current airbag will be fine if you make sure you get a MFSW where the plug sits at a 5 o'clock position. The harness is to give you the extra plug for the MFSW.

Ah cracking I will have a look when i get home cheers

Because you don't already have a MFSW then I bet you have a lowline ECU, most probably the 'S', which means you'll need to get a midline A4 ECU to support MFSW and CC. It's quite easy to check what ECU you have... undo the 2x T9 screen that are holding on the top cowling behind the steering wheel and lift off the top cowling, this should reveal a white sticker with the part number of the ECU

sweet nice easy little job to check before buying one of the more expensive parts! thanks!

the slip ring - 4E0953541B, is the B important, I have found alot of A's that claim to be suitable, is this correct.....

last thing is to find someone in the Gatwick area who can do the coding for me.........

VCDS (formerly VAG-COM) forum

Click the link above for the vcds users map for your coding. Click on a blue balloon in your atea, users details pop up in a box at the top, send them a pm and tell them what you need coding. Hope that helps. :) x

Cheers Sandra,

I have messaged someone.

The ones nearest me havent been on for ages so didnt bother messgaing them.

Hi mate, I am in North London, Edmonton, only an hour tops drive.
You will need a new Q module 99.9% sure. I have done many many cruise installs.
The new module will also need coding and adapting.
Your current slip ring will be totally fine.

PM me if you would like me to do the install for you, including all necessary coding.

Cheers

All sorted lads. Going to do the install for Bill. After finding out he already has a DSG non MFSW on his S4, I happily told him that no extra module, slipring or harness would be needed as he already has it all installed to his car.
For those that don't know, a highline module is needed to support a DSG wheel, which will also support cruise, and in turn will also have the "A" slipring which supports the DSG wheel. The harness will also be already be in place as it is the same one also used for the MFSW features.

Needless to say, Bill was a happy man knowing it will turn out into a cheap install :)

See you soon fella.
