hi guys.

i know this question has been asked a lot over this forum, but i still havent found the answer i've been looking for.

Basically i bought myself a 2.0 Fsi avant (estate) it has the standard painted front and rear bumpers on it. both have paint peeling off them which is not good.i thought this would be the perfect opportunity to replace them with the bumpers i really want. the GMBH kit.

my question is, would a GMBH front bumper from a saloon fit straight onto my avant estate? i have heard on some places that the avant and s-line front bumpers are slightly different? (correct me if i'm wrong.)

and...if i buy the rear lower part of the bumper from TPS or a dealer, will that fit straight onto my existing upper half of my rear bumper? i only have a single exhaust and i'm not sure if there is a GMBH rear bumper that has a single exhaust cut out?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Dan!!

Have you read the Bumper Options sticky?

Front bumpers are the same between saloon and avant, it's only the rears that are model specific. A complete Gmbh front (upper and lower) will fit straight onto your car, a Gmbh lower will fit, but the existing upper will need some trimming.

As long as you buy the avant lower from TPS with the twin cutouts then it will be a straight swap for your existing rear lower.

I have a 1.9 TDi Quattro on a 04 plate with the S-Line kit. Is the rear diffuser removeable\interchangeable? I'm after a twin exhaust conversion and was wondering if it would be possible to just change the rear diffuser as supposed to the whole bumper.
Thanks in advance....

Yes, as long as you buy an avant specific rear lower. All the part numbers are in the sticky.

Hi Dan,

I beleive you can get a single exhaust cut out GMBH rear lower valance for the avant. Try this part number 8E9-807-521-F-GRU

Hope that helps.

i dont suppose you know if this is for the estate is it? but thanks very much for the reply mate. many thanks!

Yep its for the avant, the first part (8E9) denotes avant, (8E0) denotes saloon. The (F) part is single cut out for exhaust.

so 8E9-807-521-F-GRU = Avant one cut out

8E9-807-521-G-GRU = Avant two cut outs

8E9-807-521-H-GRU = Avant no cut outs.

They all should come with the black sticker part. Been researching this very thing myself recently.

i've located a complete front bumper from a saloon. with grills and fog lights, the guy wants £270 collected? is that expensive? seems it!

Front centre is £80 plus, side grilles are £20 ish each, lower would be £100-150 new from TPS. Plus painting. If it was the right colour I'd go for it, if not then it's a matter for you but it's not that bad.
