Hi all

I really dont want to go coilovers as I quite like the handling but...... I really need to sort the stance out.

So I am looking at an additional 10/15mm drop on the front (I already have Eibach Pro springs), any suggestions as I cannot find the FK lowering caps???

Apex 30mm springs on Bilstien B8's...

I have the same bar the bilstiens as tuffty. I also have the polly front top mounts which lowers the front by another 10mm.

The ride is spot on apex for the win!

By they way i have had coil overs on my car as well and just did not like them.

Cheers guys, Nice pic Tuffty.

I am currently running Eibach pro springs (25mm = F, 20mm = R), Also I think I have standard shocks as they are black.

It might be worth going to Apex as they are cheap. Looking the bay and those TT spring caps are going for £75 wow expensive in comparison.

Are you guys running spacers on your 18s?

£18 on the FK website..

I pm'd the ebay guys before questioning why are these at £75 when all their oth caps were £25. They said it was because they had no stock. They would lower the price once stocks are back in. FK website is cheaper.

Thats great, could I be cheeky Jay, could you post the link? I cannot find them.

Let me know how you get on...
Jo jo' s thread is very handy

im in the same boat as this, im currently running full adjustable FK coilovers which are 90mm drop at the rear and 80mm at the front, because im running 8.5 at the front wheels and 10" at the rear it fits nice but i want to go lower and the only way without going air ride it to raise the engine and lower the front even more because the engine sump sites really low and im not risking hitting anything and ripping my engine to bits.

I think its the sump of a 1.8t beetle, if I remember rightly and you loose the bottom oil sensor?

Shallow sumps aren't actually shallow and no use if you have the sump sensor... there is a thread already discussing this and engine mount spacers..

Not the right link there tuffty :p unless it was meant to say single track transpressor?

well guys that did not last long, Richard from Venom called saying they are no longer in stock with no lead time on delivery. So back to square one. I also asked for the TT ones and he confirm they are no longer in stock either.

Apex springs, Bilstein shocks, FK lowering caps, brand new Strut top mounts that needed trimming from ECP.

That looks just right. Shame I cannot get the FK lowering caps. For the addition of 5mm I dont see the point of changing over to Apex springs at the moment.

I was hoping for a cheap solution lol.

If you are running the same Eibach springs I had before(don't know spec - sorry), then the Apex lowers the front quite a bit on their own!

I might have to look into this, not sure what I will get for the Eibach if I sell them. You get 25mm on the front and 20mm on the rears.

10mm front 15mm rears, wheel spec is BBS RC 18x8 offset ET32. I have adjustable tie bars to go on the rear when the weather warms up.

s3dave custom jobbies!

Thanks, show off, I need another set of rear adjustable tie-arims. Are these the new ones?

These are his first batch which I purchased some 2 years+ ago! lol

Kool thats what I currently have. Excellent build quality.

I looked into the Apex springs and though mine still higher at the front, I would rather keep the eibach for now. Just wondering is there another solution besides changing the spring?

Not really, the FK lowering caps still didn't lower the front enough on the Eibachs. Bad thing about the Apex springs though, you lose the comfortable ride you get with the Eibachs.

Cheers jojo. I might took into masking the issue with some spacers to fill out the arch better. 15mm front, 20mm rears.
