Hi

I want to buy folding mirrors in audi service but they told me they need vin number of car with those mirrors.
Can someone share vin number of car from UK with folding mirrors please
Audi a3 or s3 3 door 03-07 year

Thanks

Everytime I call audi for parts not on my car but optional extras/retrofits, they can cross check and give me the part numbers, only thing I have ever needed the vin for was new keys!

Dude u need a part number, then just ask for the part number...

I quite fancy folding mirrors on my 2011 BE, is it an expensive retrofit...?

im pretty sure that Nigel (user NHN) can do this. You would need to pm and ask him though:) x

I had mine done by Ash187. You just need the mirror bodies, a new switch for the drivers door and a bit of coding and it's all done. As you have a 2011 your door modules should be fine. I had to change mine (mines an 09) to some newer modules for it to work.

I have a thread on here. Let me find it and i'll post back.

Shouldn't cost any more than £500 from memory.

Why not get the number from a A3 they may have up for sale on the forecourt.

Thats not strictly true, they supplied a Q & P door module on facelift 2011 onwards, 1 was folding other wasnt, now they use just 1 for new 8P's, but 2011/2012 they were still using the 2 different versions, although if yours has a fault they will supersede to just the one type now.

Also, take note, some people are pulling the old ones out through the small gap in top of door, which leaves plastic white pieces on the door chassis's, this is not the proper & sensible way to do it, as the new looms arent secured in the right location on the door chassis, they could interfere with the window mechanisms etc, so beware that if they're installed, that the installer takes the door tops of & does it properly, regardless if you were lucky with the fit already, nobody likes a revisit to a job because they were to lazy to do the job as it should be done, I dont want to rive 200 miles to do a job, then comeback because I didnt want to follow a specific way.

hi sorry I`m Polish and my English is not to good

as good as I wants to buy something I have to give audi cork vin number to be sure that I will get what I wants.
I know how that sounds but that's tru.
my audi is from 2005 but is already inside everything from 2009. I searched the light switch last year and gave me the vin number audi from london because I found on ebay car for sale with same switch as I need. when I give just part number of switch That they send me wrong, And that cost me 120e.

ok module already I changed, now I need to buy UK version mirrors.
I installed European version but they are different angle.

works like that

So what year folding mirrors do you want exactly, as I can order it all if need be & send to you.

Czesc,

I'm fairly sure you don't need to buy the actual mirrors. If you have the door modules and the switch you need the mirror actuators and maybe the loom, not sure. The actuators should just replace the existing mechanism.

Best person to ask is NHN.

I actually have a pair of the mirror actuators that I planned to fit to my car and never got around. I'm willing to sell them if it is them you need. Check with Nigel first though as I may be wrong.

Staz gets into Polish greetings, what on earth:D.

NHN just to ask are the mirrors exact the same to fit S3 but different covers? It may be my next mod.

Staz might just be short for a Polish name :icon_thumright:

Wel he is half polish lol.

Yes there are 3 folding base types, for there respective year ranges, 03-08, 08-10 & 11 to present day & same folding parts are used for a3, s3 different lines, just different mirror caps for S3.

Cool so I assume I just need different base for 11 to present and rest of the usuall bits. Will stay in touch NHN as I said may want to get it done within next few weeks, just not sure about costs

Yeah new bases/mechanics, the bases are £350 new, plus about £40-50 for the trim & switch, door modules if needed, from audi are £400 & 4-6 hours to fit THE PROPER WAY

If U can order for me that be great, I back to U in march.

I just need mechanism for 05 3 door a3, rest I have
350£ saunds ok. And the trim maybe.

Btw I fit the mirror with modul in 40 minutes ;)

is there any fairly easy way to check the door modules are correct?

Logon to 42 & 52 with vcds get part number of door modules & PM me to advise.

I cant give a price now then hear back in March lol, prices change with vag, ask me in March.

Also what year mirrors as your car is an 05, but you have fitted 09 parts.

Fit what mirror with module in 40 minutes?

To remove both door card/trims, take door tops of & associated parts, remove old wing mirrors, cover, fit new, return everything to norm along with aligning door tops, testing & possible coding etc, does not take 40 minutes I can assure you & I've done this many times, hence why I said fit the proper way.

It was so long ago that you forget that I bought them from MattAndrew! lol

I'll have to dig them out this weekend but it was the motorised part. I'm willing to sell them for £80, which is less than half what I paid.

Or about 390 of your finest złoty Daniel!

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that lol, oh well time has passed lol.

So he may need to run wires in anyway, I cant remember what he supplied in full tbh but could be done.

CHecked mine and they end up with Q will get full part number once I'm back home.

No need, age of car denotes its the non folding version anyway, so need modules aswell.

Okay here's what I have:
