I picked her up on Saturday morning and other than the turbo delay issue which they assured me they had fixed I have fell in love.

Here are a few pics, i'll post more once I've spent some time cleaning on the weekend

The power delivery from the engine is impressive, i really like the S-tronic gear box. Still getting used to pulling away at busy islands but i'm sure that will come with time. Grip is amazing and handling feels good, not a massive fan of the variable speed steering but i'm sure I'll get used to it.

I have the Nav with Bose and iPod kit which doesn't sound as good as I'd hoped. Also am I doing something wrong or is the iPod integration really that bad?

cat back doesnt look OEM to me so the turbo problem could be due to something to do with ECU remap etc.

The cat back is Miltek which I was lead to believe is a factory option from Audi. It wouldn't surprise me if it was mapped though as it does seem very fast for stock. I've owned a few quick cars such as a 400hp Evo 8 and this S3 feels nearly as quick to 100. Under the bonnet looks completely standard so its certainly not stage 2.

Regarding the turbo issue it is like the turbo is being stalled as it spools fine in gear, it is booked in at Audi again but I was hoping to get some advice from a forum member on how to test if the dump valve is working or not. The general feedback has been faulty dump valve or bad remap so far though.

Milltek TBE is enough for stage 2 mate you only need CAI for extra gains etc. Not sure what to suggest but once Audi have seen the mods they wont touch it I'm afraid. Was the car Audi approved? Also make sure you get someone to check cam follower & DV.

If it has been modified, and you didn't know when you bought it, then it would be advisable to let your insurance company know ! If anything happens and you haven't disclosed the correct information they may nullify your insurance which could result in untold legal problems !

The car was from an Audi dealer and was Audi approved and I have a letter saying the issue has been fixed to their knowledge and if it isn't they will fully resolve the issue at my convenience so I'm hoping I'm ok.

I was thinking if I unplugged the DV and the issue is the same then it must be a faulty DV? Would a march 2010 have the revision D DV or revision C?

Yes I agree, is the Milltek an Audi option when buying the car?

Milltek isnt fitted by audi, so its aftermarket for sure, usually coupled with a map, nice looking car tbh, mirror make it look a bit out of place imho.

Oh right it was listed on extras list in the dealership, so not massively happy it wasn't made clear it was an aftermarket part but it sounds nice so I better call the insurance then

I quite like the silver mirrors on the all black car, I know the car isn't too everyones taste but I like it. My dad even said it looks like a drug dealers car lol

So you will be fine then, In reg to DV you probably need to take it out and check for the revision to tell. Nice if it has stage 2 already:D. Saved you quite bit of cash IMO

It also looks like it has spacers on as the rear wheels seem to fill arches more but it may just be the angle of the photo.

Do I access the DV? under the car?

What does stage 2 involve? cat back and remap?

I've just spoken to Audi and they have told me the car hasn't been remapped as that is checked when they buy cars and the Milltek is Audi approved and doesn't need to be declared to the insurance but that sounds untrue to me.

The exhaust would need to be mentioned to your insurance as it is a performance upgrade and anything like that needs to be declared. Anything non standard should always be declared really its not worth taking the risk.
I think that is really bad of Audi to say you don't need to tell them!

It is shocking and I'm just glad I know it's wrong or I could be an S3 and large legal bill down. I'm under the Audi free 7 day insurance at the moment so when I call to switch over my insurance i'll tell them about it.

Overall dealing with Audi Tamworth has been a nightmare, being lied to about them fixing an issue, this exhaust issue, delaying the collection of the car and lots of other little things which I won't get into. Just glad I love the car so much or I would be annoyed.

Not entirely true, if for any reasons you have something fitted and not declared insurance is not invalidated only extra premium added on from the time that you have fitted the part (need to show an evidence to prove that). So there is no extra panic just as a good citizen would be fair and right to declare all the mods.

Stage 2 is exhaust and map + intake but can be run without it with reduced power etc. If they provided you the car they know what its had fitted so dont worry! They clearly stated the fact so just put all down the list once you decided to go ahead with your next insurance provider etc.

A friend of mine changed his exhaust and suspension and did not mention it to his insurers and he unfortunately had an accident and they would not pay out. My documents clearly say the insurance becomes invalid if changes are made and insurers not notified.

It's always best to be honest that's all I am saying.

Nice looking car Oli! I am lead to believe that having a Milltek requires a map, otherwise all sorts of error messages come up on the display.

Can I make a request? I have been looking for a video of the sound a milltek makes on an s-tronic. Any chance you could make a video of the sound? Specifically when changing gear under load. Thanks!

A cat back milltek will not throw up any error messages and can be run without a re map. If you fit a turbo back system you will need it mapped to stop the emission or engine management light coming on.

gear change is rather smoother out, not that burbly but overall noise is much more decent crisp and entertaining

Get over to Coventry Audi mate, dealt with them for about 4 years with 3 different Audis and been very good, always get a cuppa and cake as well :)

Cheers for all the useful advice guys. I'm going to try Audi Halesowen today as it is the closest to me and see what they say. If not i'll try the Coventry one as there is no way any good tech can say this is right. I've made a little video to show the problem which I'll upload to Youtube shortly.

I'll do a video of the exhaust noise as soon as possible

Here is a video of the turbo issue, any thoughts are more than welcome. This wasn't filmed on a public road!

Can't really tell from the video what the issue is. You need to get your car logged by a forum member. If you wanna drive it down to nr Cheltenham I can do it for you and will confirm if it is mapped or not. I had a similar issue with 2 seperate remaps on my S3 (s-tronic) and it was down to the map.

Thanks a lot, I might take you up on that offer as Cheltenham is only 50 miles / 1 hour from me.

If you listen to the sound you can hear the car basically lose power as it goes into the next gear. It isn't easy to tell though as when you are in the car you feel the power die off.

Where are you mate as I live Berkshire and can drive up and get your car scanned.

Definitely contact the previous owner once the V5 comes through.Very poor service from supplying dealer,
i would be chasing them for some goodwill gesture! On the upside you have a milltek, probably remapped and
a very cool looking S3..

Nice one and I have his details as I have the receipt for when the car was bought :) I think I'll try and get in touch.

We could have met up half way if that helps, have sps for REVO that could tell if the car using their map or not. Up to you buddy. Wont really take any money of you either.

Your car doesnt look that fast, you can try to check if you have correct DV

I agree about the car not looking fast, the video wasn't done on a flat which doesn't help. Would the SPS show if any remap has been done or just REVO remaps?
