Filled up on Monday, range said 460 miles, 70 miles later its down to 320! I'm having it plugged in this week to see what fault codes come up but anyone got any ideas? Had a similar problem with the wife's golf and it turned out to be the oxygen sensor so hoping its something that simple.

Ah yeah, may help. Its a 2.0 tfsi. 70k and service another 6000 miles away

Heavy foot? lol
lol on a serious note hopefully something simple bud!

The reason I noticed it was I haven't been nailing it due to the weather lol

How's your water temp guage...is it sitting bang on ninety or wavering below? My mpg went to the wall when my thermostat decided to die....

Cheers
A

i wished, i fill mine up and it says something like 220 max, soon goes down to 160

680 for me! Gotta love the tdi lol

Got to love the tdi,
if you boys can point me in the right direction i might think of trading mine in for a 3.0 tdi quattro avant.
first of all my bro in law has a 57tdi 170bhp and audi had it for a year after changing the injectors on warrenty, they had it for so long coz it wouldnt regen, in the end they changed half the engine and updated this and down dated that and one day after about 15 times of going back for not regening it worked and from then ive **** meself everytime i think of buying a diesel audi.
worse thing is just has he started to get his confedence back some pirates planker pulled across 2 lanes of dual carrigeway and took him out with his wife and 3 kids in the car (not that that was audis fault). everyone was ok, it took the bang well.
so any ideas on good mph good bhp good nmt and good 0-60 ill be well pleased...oh and reliable
Thanks

I was getting about 240 miles to a £65 tank of vpower in my a3 2.0t FSI

They are just bad on fuel...but you get refinement, better noise and less lag than the 2.0tdi engines...to me its worth the extra.

really iv ran stage 3 2.0 T fsi and do around 400 to a tank
for 1 dont belive the DIS
and as above check for codes and could be the CTS.

200 miles for £75 of jiuce aint to bad then, i have s4.

The temp is bang on 90 so that seems ok. The range usually says around 460 on a tank full but the trip doesn't match that unless I sit on the motorway at 65. Its just using more than usual, in fact its almost into the range of my old m3 when it some so somethings wrong. Hopefully the plug in will point me the right direction.

No codes! Suppose next thing to check is I don't have a sticking caliper or anything like that (or a hole in the tank!). Being dumb but what's CTS?

Im usually lucky if mine comes within a 100 miles of what the miles to empty says. Planning on replacing my MAP, temp sensor and thermostat and chack for carbon build up to see if things get any better. Apparently they dont always show up when scanned

I must admit i was a bit dismayed with mine, having heard they are good on fuel, sitting at a steady 80-85 i rarely get anything more than 330-340 out of a tank. I calculated that the last full tank was 27mpg avg, even though the HUD said 30.

Surely thats pretty crap for a car that is barely on boost at those speeds in 6th?!

I got 37mpg on a motorway run of about 300 miles. Other than that my 2.0TFSi does 30mpg pretty much all the time. This is all calculated as I don't have full DIS, only the range display.

I get 300 miles a tank just driving around Birmingham, no motorways and mostly local roads.

I get 400+ on a long motorway run.

Maybe the fuel station is nicking a litre or two, ive heard its happened

Its going to have struggled to do 250 miles on a tank at this rate. Anyone changed a thermostat as that's been mentioned as something to do? CTS seems a straightforward enough swap but I've got use of a mates workshop tomorrow so hopefully i'll solve it. Last resort will be taking it to Audi.

I'm getting atleast 750-800 a tank

260 to a full tank round town on my 2.0t fsi quattro, I've never had better and never really expected better, round about 27mpg, motorway I get 38mpg @ 80mph. To be fair, I think they are very good on fuel for the weight and power. My Subaru was getting best case 18mpg from a 2.0t. Dunno how bez got 400 miles to a tank stage 3. I could never get that in a million years, but I do seem to keep buying these heavy boots lol! Nothing to do with me in anyway shape or form haha!

Well mines doing 17 at the mo! Plugged in and did a live running temp check (apparently) and it matched the temp gauge. The decision has been made to change the thermostat anyway next weekend so I better check what that involves. I was told BM's suffer a similar problem with thermostats and CTS's where it thinks its colder than it is therefore increasing fuel. Makes sense as my exhaust does look a bit black!

my cars like a dirty old man and petrol garages are hooters to it, everytime it goes past it just wants to slip in and stick a 100$ in a thong:hubbahubba:
