EGR blank & inlet mani clean

If you are keeping the EGR valve. lease the hose alone, if you are removing the valve, then blank the hose off.

For the ease and simplicity of things I'll shall just be blanking off the EGR thus removing just the flexi pipe and leaving the valve and hose connected.

Here's some close up pics of my engine covers and EGR blank.

That's ace cheers mate!

Ordered the Passat dimple engine plastics via TPS, I collect Monday. Could you take a pic of where you modified the PAS cover to fit over the pipes?

EGR will be very similar to yours but I'll be leaving my EGR valve in situ. Received my other free VAG blanking plate from Darkside this week, happy days!

Think I've found someone via eBay who's just started to break a FL car and all the scuttle plastics etc, he tells me, are there, just waiting to hear back on a price.

Small update,

I've offered up the Passat engine bay plastics;

Various Jan 13 037

The airbox trim fits a treat, I can see where I can use an existing fixing point to secure it, plus it's a really good fit. The PAS cover, a little more complicated, as you can see in the picture I have circled, in red, 2 tabs that don't seem to have any purpose for the A4 application, do I cut these off or is there some use for them? I've also highlighted, in yellow, where I need to cut a 'half moon' shape out of the cover to allow it to surround the hose flush. Regarding the PAS cover, how is it actually secured then?

Cheers.

The pass just sits there.

The bits you got in red are cut in half and they tuck in to a slot under the slam panel. you should be able to see/feel it there.
That's where mine sits and its not moved.
Once you have the Facelift scuttle panel/battery cover on, that will help secure the panel as well.
When you cut the half moon shape out, get some rubber pipe and cut a slit down it on side side to go over the plastic and help protect the rubber pipe.

Ok, fair enough. I does seem to sit fairly securely like. I'll chop the tabs down by half then as you recommend and put some protection round the bit I cut out to stop it chaffing on the hose.

Still struggling to source FL scuttle/battery cover. I don't suppose you have VAG part numbers for them? Might just buy a piece at a time from TPS if it's not extortionate!

Ditch the plastic and get your EGR blanked mate!
nah, looks tidy really but did you get th plates sorted?

Had a spare few hours today and accomplished this;

Passat trim, modified and fitted.

Audi 001

Although both bits of trim sat fairly secure, I decided to add an inconspicuous ty-wrap point just so they didn't move.

Airbox;

Audi 003

PAS;

Audi 004

Using a hole drill, I cut a half moon shape out of the side of the PAS cover so it would fit snug over radiator pipe;

Audi 005

...and finally I performed EGR surgery;

Audi 002

That's all my successful efforts today, I have a rather frustrating issue regarding the CD changer install, see separate thread.

Nicely done that man.

All you need now is some Porsche caps, Black washer, power and break fluid caps, black oil dip stick, new coolant bottle, break bottle, FL scuttle plate and a good clean.
Sorted. :jump:

lol

Looks good.

Covers are needed for TDIs. :)

Cheers mate,

Sourcing Porker caps through a chap on here next pay day. Finally sourced FL scuttle trim plus wiper arms £50 all in. Coolant bottle is also next month.

Where do you get black PAS, brake fluid and dip stick from?

Been a while since on here, busy away with work!

Having a few hours to myself today, I decided to fit the FL scuttle plastics and wiper arms I eventually found on eBay and this is the result;

Before;

Clothes  Audi 028

After;

Audi engine bay 001

Audi engine bay 002

Audi engine bay 003

Next week the expansion tank is getting replaced, reconditioned turbo fitted and I'm treating the old gal to a oil service.
