safe mode on car

hi all..
am new on this forum and am really in need of any help.. have got an audi a3 2.0 fsi 04reg and the car don't fancy starting any more. all it does is start for one or 2 seconds and goes off.. this problem started after battery change and i there is a safe mode display on the dash close to the mileage, please does any one know how to remove this car from safe mode and also i did bought a new key fob off ebay and swap it with my old key, but to be honest this problem started before i even order the keys..

Yea the keys need recoding take it to a dealer they will do it in no time .

turn out to be that i didnt transfer the transponder from the original key to the one i bought from ebay..

Thats rather contradictive tbh, if the problem started before you got new key & swapped things about, then couldnt be the immo chip, strange.

Hey there!!! I have same issue (kinda) and nothing works ..

I replaced the shell of the key from one from eBay and the car now in safe mode.. I've replaced it back.. But still Won't go out from safe mode (on dashboard).. How did you fix it? Dealership wants 200 and I need to tow it too:/,.

Either you've damaged the immo chip or you havnt put the immo chip part of the key with the key you have now.

Are you sure you put the top part of the key correctly with the key you have now as tbh unless you moved the immo chip then I doubt its damaged.

Well funny thing.. Since it was attached to the original top (part with the bottons) I couldn't even separate it so now it's all the original parts all together ..

Any ideas?

It can't be the top original part unless you've damaged something, try starting with the other top piece next to the barrel.

Didn't work:/..

I ment that I've replaced the plastic part only.. And not the one with the battery or the bottons .. Don't say I didn't damage , I might.. I wish I knew what to look..

The tip part has the immo glued inside it, if this was damaged or not put with the present key then this is your issue

I don't think that's it but it might be.. So I need a new key? Or I really need to tow the car to the dealership?
