Game over, damaged engine.... Only major damage is the cam

Interested to see how you fit the GTX35 in there. My pte6262 is tight, tight like a ducks ****

You might have more space as I have a LHD and the brake booster is an issue for the TIP.

What manifold you have in mind?

I like your style, I'd love to change my cams when i change the head, but still waiting on IE for the milder cams to come into stock eventually. I don't want race, needs to be tractable

The GTX3576 is the same size as the GTX3076, they both run the same compressor housing, I had to lower my engine 15mm to get it in there.

I'm not getting a new turbo just replacing the internals and some other things

AWESOMENESS !!!

So you wont need my fancy paper weight.

have they explained what caused the failure Andrew? How can you be sure it won't happen again?

That's cool, I wasn't trying to be antagonistic, more concerened that replacing like for like without knowing fully why it failled could lead to a very expensive repeat of fortunes!

Are you able to share with us why it is thought this one snapped so badly?

oooooooooooh, lets blame Yodel! They're the cause of most things breaking between being made and arriving at the customer!

It could of been or it could of been the company i got it off.

As i said piper have done nothing wrong and they have a great after sales service and i should get a well packed up cam delivered to me by Thursday

No mate, I just want to thank you again on the offer as most people wouldn't do that, even someone in Dubai like yourself.

A true gentleman. Thank you again

No worries Andrew, I just can't bring myself to throw these kind of things away. Rather pass them on if someone needs them.

FYI, the offer stands for everyone.

Trust me this was not mine or Pipers fault. I would say go out and get them but get them from Piper only.

utterly pointless post...

it failed on its own without reason........... nope.. it failed for a reason, you choose to not share, which regardless of your motives to protect piper and their foc replacement service for you (understandable) the cause is not being stated, which makes us think its something being hushed up... and may reflect on piper worse than saying what went wrong?

am i wrong?
am i alone in thinking this?

I ****ing hate yodel.

Ive got to admit though, im with bill mate. By not stating the reason for failure people will look upon this as pipers fault!

I'd take you up on it if I was sure I could run just the exhaust cam?

Or anyone know if I can just buy an inlet cam?
Soo temted

Yes there was a problem with the cam but i'm not about to bash Piper on here

It was a number of things

It was a number of things

.......which you wont elude to...........

something built wrong by you?
cam material issue?

Piper Cam failed.. snapped... in use, not on installation (which I have done myself on schricks such was their brittle nature and sensitivity on tightening down the cam caps very slowly and progressively)

I dont get the secrecy or evasion

There was a problem with the cam.. Material? Batch problem which snuck out and got resold where it should'nt have? (you say you did'nt get it from piper....)

Bad batch sent to one company that shouldn't of gone

Just a bad batch of exhaust cams, inlet is fine?

Glad you got a replacement, any further backup with regards to further damage, or just a brand new replacement cam?

Either way, it's good to hear your S3 will be back again!

Glad to hear the issue's not as dramatic as it seemed at first. Pretty understandable how a bad batch could be sent out, so I wouldn't worry too much about soiling their name, personally I'd look on Piper more favorably now I know what the issue was, rather than it just being left unknown. Sounds like they're being very decent and professional about sorting it for you. :)
