Went to John Lewis Home this afternoon in High Wycombe to look for some furniture for the boys. Just as I was about to pull away from the lights on the M40/A404 junction, the car threw a wobbly by stalling, indicating that there was a malfunction and I should take it straight to the garage. I thought it say ASR/ESP fault, but after a bit of time, I eventually managed to start the car and the computer then indicated there was a start/stop malfunction.
We stopped in Marlow because I was hoping I could leave the car for a bit and it would reset itself, but to no avail. Now I have to press and hold the key until the car eventually starts, the engine management light remains on and the start/stop message reappears until I turn it off. The car seems to have gone into some sort of safe mode because it feels as if the turbo charger has been disengaged. Theres hardly any accelleration.
Luckily I managed to aviod the M4 on the way home and kept the revs below 2000rpm and the speed below 40mph.
Any ideas what it could be? I'll have to phone the stealership tomorrow.
