So Lee A.....n, after asking me to send you a set of A4,B7 Headlights and a matching S-line grill you have failed to pay me for the parts. I have sent you dozens of emails to ask you to pay or return the parts if you dont need them. I even visited the address you gave me to send the parts to (a 280 mile round trip) and nobody had ever heard of you?.So if anyone knows a Lee A in Southampton who brought a front ended A4 around June/July this year and needs parts then just bear in mind that he hassn't paid me or bothered to reply to any letters or emails plus if anyone knows where I can contact him please pm me. Thanks

Guess after dealing with a lot of honest people on here I trusted him to do the decent thing plus I had been chatting to him for some time, he got suspended for comments on the forum

Sorry you got your fingers burnt.

Lets hope that what goes around comes around.

Just so dissappointed that he would do this for £100, it not the money its the principal of helping out a fellow Audi enthusiast who then decides to S@!t on you.

Hi Jo, just got a pm from him fessing up to his poor behaviour, he has offered to do the right thing so I'll give him a few days to make good. If he still doesn't sort it I'll pm you what I have to name and shame, thanks :)

OK Carl, I'll leave it with you mate, if he pays you back, I'm deleting this thread ok.

He still hasnt paid even after sending him a ****ogram letter.

Get the police involved, call the local force to him and give them all the info. They dont take this kind of stuff lightly.

The police wont be interested as its a civil agreement, unless you can show that the goods were obtained by decption ie false name address etc

Could be a worth a drive one day to discuss with him the error of his ways.

My furthest so far is Reading.

hey up m8 whats his addy as i got ripped off by a lad in southampton for £150 on evo owners club , must just be people in southampton m8 !!

Its a crime that needs reporting. Likely happened to others, and as such with enough people pulling evidence and helping the police, it may end in a conviction and compensation. If nobody reports it the scammers get away with it. The key is talking to the scammers local police force. If there is no joy, and you know the scammers details, you could file a small claims online. If you pursue through the courts first there is nothing the police can do about it afterwards.

Im just so ****** off at him as I am passionate about my car and guess I expected others to be the same?, I thought I was helping a member out but only to be ripped off, my letter to him said Id bring a few club members round to observe but he took this as a threat (I can see his point) but if I owed someone then I Pay. I have a huge trail of email including him admitting he tried to blag it so maybe its time to get the police involved?, either that or send the boys round to "reason" with him?

Take him to the small claims court, doesn't cost much, you have his details and his confession and i am fairly sure he will pay before it gets that far. Its there for this kind of thing for so use it :)

Get the boys round!!!

Its principal....if he is admitting it, then make him pay, one way or another....

Is he on FB, see if you can find anymore info on him, time to name and shame, if you are on other car forums, put it on there as well, may help out.

Also if there are any lads on here you know and trust that are nearby.

Ye take him to claims court - they will visit his house & remove goods to 4 x the value of coin he owes you to make sure the debt it covered - been watching about it on tv called sherriffs - costs £60 to do & the retrieve that aswell from him ontop of money owed !!

#The horrible deceitful little *******

Police wont do **** all, but report it..

It will end up costing you more going to the small claims, and it sounds like he has no money anyway....It would take months even years to get his belongings.....

Go see him and make a little holiday/break out of it.... hard in Southampton i know, but hey ho....

Im thinking that I'll see what the local fuzz will do first, a visit to establish the facts and all that. Then see if he coughs up, if not then a road trip with car transporter............best not say any more lol:)

I have a photo of his car from here so if any of our southern members see him out and about "ave a word" please

Think that should work?, admire that lovely S-Line grill and headlights although it looks like he's done the clear corner mod?

Dont believe all you see on the tv bailiff program's, they are made to scare you! They don't tell you your rights and often do not show the correct procedure.
It will cost around £50 to file a claim and a further £90 to instruct a bailiff if you obtain a judgement. The option i like before enforcing with a bailiff is supeening (sp) the defendant to court to hear a verbal statement especially when judgement was issued in default when he ignores it. He has to attend a local court to make his statement and failure to attend could lead to an arrest warrant.

The debt has to be over £600 to get the sheriffs involved. Plus you can only use these guys after you have been awarded a CCJ and they have not paid up. The sheriff is totally different to a bailiff.

Thats harsh mate, you wouldnt expect it and I hope this sort of thing doesnt stop people helping each other out in enthusiast communities..

I live down on the south coast near southampton, and work there occasionally too... havent seen that car around but will keep an eye open..!

That's the thing about forums everyone is there to help everyone out, but you will always get one little **** that takes advantage, and they sometimes need to be informed of the error of their ways to help prevent others having the same idea in the future.
And knowing that someone may turn up to have a chat with them if they abuse the system helps maintain the trust between people on forums.

In my case I drove to Reading from Brum to discuss an issue with someone who took advantage of something, its was only over £50 and cost me around half that in fuel, but its the principle that was at stake. In the end the parts he scammed were damaged beyond use and for some reason both his and his girlfriends car suffered a series of punctures over the next few weeks, serious ones, you know, the type where you have to replace the tyre. No idea how it happened as I wasn't there but maybe it ended up costing him a lot more than £50.
Maybe he got the message, who knows....

So in short you drove all the way, had a discussion that ended with nothing. Then you happened to be passing another few times (spending lots of time and money) and noticed that he/she had a few puctures ''officer''. Jesus, thats dedication !! Why not just do them all at once the 1st time you went ? Not that i condone any similar behave of course.

BrasillianGringo,
Try reading between the lines, there is no way I am admitting anything on a public forum other than one way or another I was quite satisfied with the outcome.

Email from the plod, Im asked to report it to another dept and they will assess what action (if any) is required.....meanwhile back at the ranch.....lol

How annoying - it's these kind of people they prey on a weakness. Whilst we will do almost anything to help a fellow enthusiast they will take that as a weakness and abuse it. I had a friend who paid over £500 for an engine and the money went missing. Then whilst in the queue for a TV recording the couple in front who he had been chatting to for a few hours offered him VIP top gear tickets for £100... that money went missing too. It's a shame that honest people who try to help one another get ripped off like this.
If I see the car then I'd certainly ask why he rips people off and what he would do is his new parts were ripped off his car... maybe makes you think twice.

Its all about being patient.....and next time im in the area I may call in and have a word if you know what I mean!
