Just recieved a genuine armrest today,

Anyone have any idea what is this connection for on it?

I will be sniping it off anyway, as I'm sure my car will have no connection for it.

Oops meant to say connection in the tread name there.

It's for a little ambient light inside the arm rest! :) has It got a little led and bracket I the hinge?

This is for the ambient light package (red) which if fitted has red LED's next to the front and rear interior lights, ashtray and armrest. Don't remove it as you probably have the connector as part of your loom even if you dont have the ambient light pack.

Yep that's the LED, it gives quite a nice glow. I don't think you have to have ambient light install to have this as standard. It might even be standard on all armrests.

wire it to your cig lighter
will work as it should

Lucky to get it mate, wish I had it, anyone know part no's and prices?

Cheers again fellow B6 drivers :hi:

I must take out the rear ash tray this evening and have a look for a plug lying around there,

part number is 8E0864207D/6

No that is the part number on the 'Steel bar' on the armrest that fits onto the bracket,

Let me know if you want a part number for the bracket while I have it here,

On a seperate note, My car had no armrest before so are it more than likely that my car won't have the connection?

Nope don't have the connection for the LED :(

Bez I take it you would have to take out the centre console to wire it to the cig lighter?

Wonder could I tap power from the handbreak position sensor either?

Anyone ever do this before?

i was just after the led part number mate. Of it has one.

Just fitted the armrest today, It matches in well with the sport leather seats :blackrs4:

I never bothered wiring up the armrest though,

Could someone please post a picture of what the LED in the armrest is like at night?

I'm in two minds weather to wire it up or not, will have to see if it is worth if first :ninja:

Thanks
