What flat bottom steering wheel will fit? A3 8P 54 Reg

Hey,

I have an A3 8P 54 Reg.

I want to change the standard sport wheel to a Flat Bottomed one, does anyone know of any that are a straight swap?

Airbag systems are different.

The fbmfsw would use a dual stage system, yours would be a single stage, I can connect it so it uses the single stage & there would be no errors, but I cant give you 100% guarantee the airbag will deploy, then again no airbag system has 100% guarantee tbh, but thats for you to decide, but it can be done.

Its not plugnplay, as you'd more than likely need some other parts to allow coding, functionality, if you are looking for an installer, send me a PM

Still will have airbag issue to deal with.

Well this is why I asked the question, I dont know if front of the steering wheel is just an airbag cover!

Thats not the right attitude tbh, this thread will be requested to be merged with the other, pointless opening multiple threads on the same subject, achieves absolutely nothing.

Also, we're very friendly on here, hence why I replied to your 1st thread asap last night, but remember we have jobs, family, lives etc & just cause you dont get an answer in good time to one thread, doesnt mean you will get any quicker response by opening up another on the same subject.

No I absolutley agree you have been helpfull-ish, not really answered any of my questions, non the less you have been more helpfull than anyoen else thats replied. Standard with a forum really, only 1 out of 20 people who arent up their own ****.

Can you buy covers for the airbag insert?? Rather than just leaving a big hole

if you want rounded air bag with flat bottom steering wheel then you wont be able to fit your old air bag and I suggest to buy new one that fits and costs aproxx £300 + steering wheel cost + coding and not sure but you may need double DIN conversion.

Driving without an airbag is somewhat asking for trouble and you should always have one fitted and working otherwise you will see faults in the dash and in your head after having any collision:].

Dont think you can find blanking cover for A3 flat bottom steering wheels as this is integrated with an air bag.

You will have DIS errors and no horn, never mind no safety system so when it comes to MOT it will fail.

If your current wheel looks like either of these then you wont get an airbag from a FB wheel working in your car, although some say its possible you cant really test it out (unless your a crash test dummy):

Now if you have this shape airbag already in your car (not likely though) then you can put a proper flat bottom wheel in
