The has been a great deal of post regarding this subject on numerous sites.

I have just purchased an A4 S-line registered September 2012 from Listers in Coventry (Excellent service I might add), but they are adamant that no mud-flaps are available to fit to the vehicle because of the change in shape to the bodywork, but there are several posts which suggest that they can be fitted.
Is there anyone out there who can give me a definitive answer and if so where the mud-flaps can be purchased?

Hi Sandra, many thanks for the 'welcome' e-mail, I take it you must be part of the 'site' organisation?

My A4 S-line was registered in September 2012 and I am advised by Listers of Coventry, that it is an A4 B8 and that the A4 Avant mud flaps will probably fit.

I wait their arrival with baited breath!

Hi Iain

Did the Avant mud flaps fit?

I have a 2012 facelift A4 S Line saloon. April 2012 so one of the first of the facelift cars. Asked for mud flaps to be fitted by dealer from outset, when they tried, the pre-facelift flaps wouldn't fit.

When the facelift model mud flaps came into stock they said they look silly on the S Line with a gap between the flap and the bumper.

Hi 'Wanderer'

NO! The Avant mud-flaps do definitely not fit, close-ish perhaps at best, and for that matter do none of the other suggested flaps mentioned on this site - the Seat Execuo - (or something like that) - for example.

I tried the SEAT dealership in Stoke and they have been inundated with requests of a similar nature - there must be more S-Lines around than I thought!

I feel pretty sure that given a little bit of ingenuity the Avant ones might be pursuaded, but to be fair they are a close fit but not close enough. The front ones are an absolute definite no because of the flange which needs to fit behind the front inner wing guard to maintain the profile.

I get very mixed reactions from Audi and the dealerships, from a simple ' no they don't do them for the S-Line 2012 models' to 'they (Audi ) don't fit them becasue they spoil the aesthetic look of the vehicle' and ' the vehicle body design is such that there is no need for them because the profile is such that it acts as a mud-flap at the rear...' What rubbish!

I will take some photographs and post them on here if it proves a point!

I have also had a problem with the emission control system which Audi-Assist had to sort out. It would appear that the exhaust gas feed pipe has (had) been incorrectly fitted into the inter-cooler feed pipe downstream of the electrically-controlled ECG Gate Valve. The pipe was fitted pointing into the direction of the air from the intercooler and not pointing with the flow.

This does seriously impact upon performance as the gate valve 'carbons-up' and effectively needs a de-coke - I wish I had taken some photographs as the mechanic was dismantliing it1

Bazaar or what!

I have also discovered a panel which is apparently missing from underneath the rear valance where the towing-hook would be fitted - I have informed (with photographs) Listers in Coventry and also Audi direct in Germany on; zentrale@audi.de - a useful direct contact as they do defintely not like been made aware of issues relating to quality control.
Their acknowledgement was almost immediate so I await the outcome with baited breath.

Incidently, my vehicle is just three months old registered in September on a 62 plate -

So apart from the outdated 5-digit sat-nav system everything else is fine and the effect on performance after the 'modification' and de-coke has been quite dramatic.

I await the next installment!

Thanks Iain

My car is a 1.8 TFSI 170 S Line with only metallic paint, alcantaraand sound pack as options, so I don’t have the Sat Nav frustrations! It hasbeen faultless so far.

Had a 55 plate B7 2.0 TDI 140 S Line before. Had it from newfor 6 and a half years, and in 60,000 miles it was also mechanically faultless, only issue was a dashboard rattle early on which got sorted.

I don’t know how long I will keep the current car, willbe at least until it is 3 years old. But what I do know is I look after my cars.I don’t want unnecessary stone chips and tar spots, hence I want some mudflaps! This is the first car I’ve ever had without them. I even paid for themmyself on two company cars! They don’t ruin the looks – the ones on SEs whichobviously also fitted pre-facelift S Lines are quite discreet aren’t they, andas for the body design catching everything – agree with your comment!

As for the panel where the tow bar would be, well if there ismeant to be one there then it’s also missing on mine!

Hi I have a 2013 S line black edition and the rear bumper does have a cut out panel and I am assured and if you check every car thats for sale on the Audi website there is no panel. To satisfy myself I have checked cars at 3 local dealers and they are all the same. there is no cover.

On a seperate note I have fitted mudflaps to my A4 S line B8 2013 black edition. the front Audi standard mudflaps fit and you dont need to put that tab behind the wheel arch plastic. the mudflaps are super rigid without doing that. the rears do not fit at all. I purchased some copy ones on e bay and with slight trimming they fit greatand really keep the muck off the car
