Dfp?

Right im new to audi's (the newer type anyway)
i dont have a dpf light or warning on my dash, but im interested in removing the box and fitting a straight pipe to the back boxes.

is it as simple as just removing the dpf and replacing with a bit of pipe?
where would all the connections go as i know there is a cat type plug and two metal pipes going to it.

if anyone could give me a hint would be grateful.

Ah sorry mate!
Its a 2.0l Tdi 170 quattro

im going to get myself a remap, but i have accest to a ramp so i was wiling to do the mechanical side myself, but just curious as to wht problems i might encounter when i remove it and replace with pipe, scared ill get tons of lights and issues.

The remap company will remove it as part of the package - you won't get any lights as the new map removes the DPF from the ecu altogether.

Tbh just remove the innards of the DPF as it may become part of the mot as a visual inspection for cars fitted with one from factory.

Yes I agree do the map etc at a proper company or you may get warnings, issues.

Hi Chris,


the normal way of doing it is to open the DPF up and remove the innards, then neatly weld up. You can replace with a pipe section but it is added expense and has no benefit. Also you will need to figure out a way of mounting the exhaust temperature sensor etc as this is still needed even without the DPF present.


Regardless of the way you remove the DPF, you will quickly get dash lights and the car will be in limp mode until you have it mapped out.
