Just been checking out pro,s and cons really mainly the runner length of
the manifold and how it applies to your setup...

some quite good info here
Long tube Vs Short tube runner length Turbo Manifolds

what was interesting was regards to the longer runner length and piston
compression regarding the k04 and relentless seeing what success people had
with running higher AGU,9.5.1 compression with the longer runners of the relentless
what made more power makes sense.. longer manifold runners the higher the
compression pistons you can run

there does seem allot of benefits with longer runners like

higher peak HP
less exhaust gas reversion
lower EGT,s
detonation suppression
allow more area to fill before restriction of turbine wheel
run higher compression pistons , more advanced timing

but there is always a compromise what would be loosing a bit of spool

Actually was comparing my TSR vs Relentless my Tsr mani runners look a bit longer
then the relentless will be interesting what difference this will be if any ?

not to mention how much heavier your TSR is against the XS power! but I'm sure that extra metal will make more reliable

Also, I didn't think you need to worry about spool time, the current hybrids spool in plenty of time and make more boost than the 1.8t can handle below 4750rpm, how that runs on the 2ltr will be found out, but i really don't think spool time is an issue TBH

Yeah its quite some weight for a manifold ! i,ll have to stick it on the scales to see actually what it is..

Yeah not to concerned about spool when running a 2ltr this should give me ample spool nice if
it helps with peak HP though ..

I just did a search and found this Relentless brand on Ebay. Has many other people used these manifolds before? I know that even some of the best tubular manifolds from huge name brands (HKS, Greddy, JBS etc.) are prone to cracking because .... well tubular manifolds are not as strong as a cast manifold and just prone to cracking no matter how well they are designed.

The price on the Relentless manifold is pretty cheap compared to everyone else's, plus it is sold on Ebay, so I have to question the quality.

I've read on here somewhere that Bill of Badger 5 does tubular manifolds. Do you still do them Bill? Can anyone on here comment on them?

Has anyone used the JBS's cast manifold? They claim with an upgraded K04 hybrid can push 300-320 bhp with this manifold. Plus this thing looks really nice and would be worth the extra quid if it would last twice as long as a tubular. :icon_thumright:

All manifolds can suffer cracking tubular or cast it all comes down to how well its
made ,materials used etc ... i would pick tubular over cast every time myself
