S3 V jag XKR ( my md decided to chase me )

Well, the MD of the company I work for recently gave himself a 50th birthday gift... A 2007 XKR 4.2 v8 supercharged,
lovely car and sound great !
on Friday as I left work I noticed he was rushing to get out of the car park... He got behind me and... Made THAT noise .
soon as mine had warmed up fully , off we went ...
off the mark I was off, every time but give him a longish road and he was coming back at me.
Usually the other car catching up would be a bad thing but it simply ment I could hear him again,
in reality around a city I would leave him with ease, but on a long drive... He would be the one smiling ,
am I getting old to love these kind of cars?.

Theres a white GTR round our way that I always harrang.... He knows I only do it just to see and hear him drop it..... And just f@ck right off into the distance......F@ckin awesome cars them like.....

Noooo- you're never to old or young to love these kind of cars! I mean its a V8 supercharged Jag! What's not to love? lol

A friend of mine owns a 2012 XKR-S and we had a little spirited drive similar to you last year. Around the twisties he wasn't really pulling on me- even with over double the bhp of my S3. However on a straight his car destroyed my humble 250bhp, but I wasn't bothered as it sounded so nice

My boss had an xkr 2011 on 24hr test drive , destroyed my s3 everywhere. credit where it's due though, for an old man he can drive!
Now he's got a 2010 maserati gran turismo mc sport line that thing is even better it's just a beast the noise it makes is immense.

My cousin works on an industrial estate in north notts and next door To his unit is a dyno shop tuning place ...... He said one of the local knobheeds there brought his Nissan gtr in and it made 540bhp completely standard as it came from the factory! (dyno out ?)

I assume 600bhp is very easily achievable from the car with minor mods???? ( I note you have put " claimed" in his case Andrew)

I guy i know imports Jap cars for a living and he has a GTR with a full JUN-1 engine etc... and has 963BHP at the hub.Does 130 mph in 5.9 secs. Absolutely stunning, pics below...





Anyhoo, love the noise of a V8 and still love the XKR's even if they are for the older folk

It all depends on what year GTR you're on about tbh.....the gen 1s had 480bhp and the latest one is about 540bhp IIRC.

The first thing most owners do is get a Y pipe and remap. 600bhp is not completely straight forward, but it mainly depends on what model year bhp you have. Plus there are so many software updates they add to make the gear changes and ECU quicker.

I can't see the video at work But I'm guessing it's the Alpha 12 GTR from America?

I have to say, the XK-RS would destroy my S3. Unless the S3 is pushing decent power, the Driver in the Jag must be driving nicely not to pull away.

Like I said...he wasn't really pulling away around the twisties. Not compared to a similar bhp GTR or GT3 for example; plus it was slightly damp as well but on a straight he destroyed my S3.

Was that a current GTR or one of the RB26 powered ones? I went up against a claimed 600@wheels R33 at VMAX in a customers car which is 540 fly bhp max and destroyed it. He was a really nice bloke, but i think his tuner had been pulling his pants down lol.

It was a R32 RB26 that he said made a tad over 600 and he was very ***** about it so we went onto a "closed" motorway head to head and gunned it up to about 150 ish and he was far behind.

I told him to to get it on the rollers to find out what it was making
