Ok was driving home on Friday night 2am clutch pedal hit the floor could not engage gear stuck like a sitting duck. luckily i flagged down a AA guy who towed me home after his shift for a little cash in hand.

Ok its the slave cylinder thats needs replacing master cylinder seems ok and not leaking. car has done 113k and its on its first clutch as far as i know from history. gona b a pricey £££ been told to change the clutch and may have to change flywheel aswell more £££ depending on condition once its all off. (your thoughts on this please)

im opting for a LUK clutch kit with concentric slave cylinder from euros
also looking at a LUK dual mass flywheel but what is the difference between a 5 teeth and 10 teeth flywheel except the price, 10 teeth costs £120 more whats the benefit and also does any1 know what is standard amount of teeth on OEM clutch?

this is all gona cost me a arm and leg so saying goodbuy to my downpipe n decat atm :-(.

also will this clutch flywheel b able to handle the torque and extra power when its remapped later next year once i get the downpipe and decat.

Thanks

My car is remapped, stage 1. I had replaced my clutch, slaveand flywheel from Euro Car Parts using LUK Clutch Kit (using promo codeCLUTCH15). Ensure you get the correct flywheel, you need to verify the VINto/from number with your Chassis number. All together it cost me around £450for parts, and four weekends to do the job myself.

Thanks for reply rraghvani ill make sure its correct stuff with chassis vin number 8L1 model code cant afford to go up n down. do you know the difference between 5 teeth and 10 teeth flywheel ?

u done the change urself sounds like a long and hard job id attempt it if i had the space and save me the labour cost aswell. didnt you need a ramp to do it or did u don it on the floor ?

Just a quick update cars is back n running like a dream my clutch feels like a 12plate car haha really light and new biting point.
so I went for the LUK clutch kit with csc and LUK dual mass flywheel also fitted a set of ebc red stuff pads first time I'm using these.

I had a look at old clutch it was F**ked and flywheel had a lot of play in it. I can really feel the sharpness of power and responsiveness haven't gone mental on it yet as pads need bedding in but is pulling nicely in the gears.

Damage -parts £420 thanks to my bruva in law and labour £200 thanks to my wicked mechanic.

Hi IFFY,

Thanks
